thanks for link.
but it's like hai di lao zhen.:bsmilie:
Not exactly want you want, but he is master for classic portraitures,

anyway, if you want to know more about classical portraits lighting, try to do a search in the net, than do a cross reference reading, than you will understand better.

.

need some inputs please.

with a 9 feet backdrop,
1)if u want to shoot half body shot,
2)a full body shot?

what lens will you generally use?

I would use 50mm, 60mm or 85mm.

but if assuming taking full body shot or 3 pax, would 50mm be too far?
it seems to me so.:(

With a 9ft backdrop and a 50mm lens, you should be no further than 6m away. Not too bad, IMO.

eventually, it's all depend on ur room length. You got to take ur lens and do a guideline then you what you want.

this studio setup hor, had me shifting and rearranging all my furniture.:(

If you got to do that full body shoot, you got to move the stuff. You gain the tired by achieving the result you want.

what if i wanna do someone sitting on a couch, but do not want full body.where should i 'theoretically' chop her legs off?above the knee cap or below?
i really cant seem to find the right angle.
this is assuming her hands are placed on the lap.

inputs please.....

I think both cropping above or below the knees can work... it'll depend on the framing and composition you desire.

ya, i would have to play with the lightings more.
maybe i shot with butterfly lighting, hence, the decapitation of the limbs is a bit obvious.

i really wished i had all the space in the world.
space contraints is really a prob for home studio setup.:(

shoot more for different angle that you want. Full leg, half leg etc etc... For me... I go for half leg and not even close to ankle as a result of 'lost ankle'. I believe its much subjective as well. But then again, shoot more and choose from there.

if you are into fashion and stuff, do check out skyetan's works (can do a search on clubsnap). as far as i understand, at times he had to shoot within the space constraints of the studio and still manage to turn out nice shots.

no one knows ah?

Still depending on the kindness of strangers ? 8-)
Tried Googling it or hitting the books ? I assume if you cannot find it in Google you do buy or ahhhhmmm read stuff at places where the books can be found. *-)

thanks.i'll check it out later.;)

I do that almost everytime i shoot  Back breaking man.

i sooooooo totally agree with you.aiyo!
the setting up hor....:bsmilie:
now i know why studio is expensive.
each studio session must be accompanied by a spa treatment for the back!

no wonder most guys here go rent studio to shoot.
i wish i have a room catered for that.:embrass: :(

Can always do location shoots mah. Studio shoots are pretty boring unless you have a strong concept to back it.
