Don't care if it's a grey set or a black set, as long as it is a warrantied set, it's a good set. :bsmilie:

Well don't be too sure. Won't be getting any warranty from Nikon SG if it's grey set.

oh. Thats wierd. I am a right hander and I always use my left eye to focus. Always see ppl doing that. Think its more stable that way coz camera is pressed against face. If use right eye, the camera will be off to the side a little. Have yet to see anyone shoot like that leh. learnt something new.

Diopter dont think can help if its astigmatism.

tltan

Ya, i totally agree with you. Using left eye has many advantages. First you can press your face to the body to provide stability. Second, your right eye is obstructed by the body, meaning it helps to let your left eye do the "looking" and your right eye is as if it is "closed". Third, did you know that your left eye is connected to the right brain & vise versa, and the right brain is the creative brain.

Sorry to piggy-back on this thread.. still on the topic of warranty.

I have a three-sheets warranty cards.. which sheet should I post it back to Nikon? Or no need to post any? :dunno:

Thanks!

Just keep the cards. Don't think you need to post them. Just show them to Nikon if you ask for service.

Actually keep both the warranty card and importantly the receipt as prove of date of purchase.

If you do not have the receipt, the warranty date will start from the date the item is made or entered into inventory or something like that.

Good point. Always keep your receipts-- even after warranties expire. You never know when you need them (sometimes even for proof of ownership disputes).

Hi guys!
I bought the D80 Kit from MS Colour for $2280..But i dun remember getting any receipt. The warranty cards have company stamps tho. What should i do?

Anywayz, the package includes 2GB SD Card, extra original battery, 30L electronic dry cabinet, UV Filter, Camera bag, Nikon Umbrella, and a len cleaning kit.

I chose MS Colour's package over Court's, which included 2 x 2GB SD card plus a 40GB portable hard drive coz i felt the extra battery and dry cabinet is a more complete set up for my 1st DSLR. I have my Powerbook so i figured the portable hard drive isn't that much of an importance.

So far, the experience with D80 has been wonderful! been so long since i had the feeling of an SLR. I must say, taking photos with my previous digital camera wasn't so inspiring. Very glad to get the urge to take photos back!

For MS Color, I am sure receipt was issued. However, if you have misplaced it I suggest you
go to MS Color and look for Florence I am sure she will help. The service there is excellent.

bought my D70s in june 2006 frm harvey norman.... and just realised tat the warrenty card oso stated D70s(HK).... but under the distributor has NIKON S'PORE stamp is this a local warrenty?

Oh yes, and make sure you photocopy if the receipt is on thermal paper (which fades away very quickly if you ask me)

Anyway if you frequent a particular shop often enough, they surely won't have a problem in helping you re-issue out a receipt if you mis-placed it, or its faded, or whatever it is. If they can't do that little a thing for you, :thumbsd: :nono: Bring your business elsewhere next time.

Heh... MSC. (if you can put up with chatting with her all day long)

If the purpose of the receipt is only for 1 year warranty, you troublesome yourself to photocopy the receipt. 1 year the thermal paper is still readable unless you put them under direct sun or hot place ;) .

Hi guys,

I was asking this same question when I saw the (HK set on my warranty card). To find out I e-mail NSC. They confirm that my set is covered under local warranty.

You can e-mail nikon to see if your set is covered if you are still unsure. http://www.nikon.com.sg/pagearticle.php?pageid=25 :)

I think that would the best assurance you can get.

Then my house must be pretty hot, my 6mth old receipts have faded away to nothing. :p

cp wun sell grey set right?

Just bought a D80 body and 70-300mm VR from CP.

Just the same, have got the HK set with 3 yellow sheet for the body. But, only when reach home then I realize that the D80 manual is used before - does not look brand new there is even a highlighter mark on one of the pages.

And when I turn on the camera, it is suppose to prompt for the date setup and things like that if it is used the first time, but it did not.

Now, beginning to doubt if they have sold me a returned set. The camera looks new thought ...

This is my 1st DLSR ... :bheart:

If in doubt go to Cathay and show them. I am sure they will look into this

Yup, bring it back to Cathay. Having highlighted markings on the manual is not acceptable. Get them to change the whole set for you.

Make your 1st DSLR experience a good one. :)

Ya ... I think so too.

Just realize another thing. Does a D80 body set comes with the eye-piece cap? (not the rubber one). It is not in my box.
