Ya ... I think so too.

Just realize another thing. Does a D80 body set comes with the eye-piece cap? (not the rubber one). It is not in my box.
yes it comes with the piece of plastic. dk-5 or something that you can slot over your eye piece as a cap

Ya, i totally agree with you. Using left eye has many advantages. First you can press your face to the body to provide stability. Second, your right eye is obstructed by the body, meaning it helps to let your left eye do the "looking" and your right eye is as if it is "closed". Third, did you know that your left eye is connected to the right brain & vise versa, and the right brain is the creative brain.

Don't be so sure yet. I have used both eyes, (I'm both handed, aka ambidextrous) and I don't press the camera against my face at all. I find it can contribute to handshake, and also I wear specs and don't like to dirty my specs :bsmilie:

Eg. en shooting 1/15s without VR in F5.6 I find my photos sharper.. May7be my face vibrates  :bsmilie:

Just came back from CP.

Told/showed them the old set problems:

(1) Viewfinder cap missing.
(2) Old/used manual given (I found at least 2 pages with orange highlighter marks, and some dirt/crumples in the pages).

They replaced a new D80 body with entire box for me. I checked everything inside out before leaving. On power on, the camera prompted me with the date/time/zone/language setup => really new set (old one was without prompt).

Thanks to fellow TS who responded. For those yet to buy a new camera, these are just some pointers that you may wish to consider.

Cheers.

rest assured it is not a grey set

Hi, i have just emailed the shop which i bought at Peninsular Plaza that if anything wrong, i can bring to them then they will bring to the agent for repair at their own cost. It is in house warranty.

Maybe the salesman gt mentioned it, but i did not hear properly. Buy it at 1.7k in cash. The D80kit is out of stock, therefore he get me a replacement of D80 plus separate lens.

As for the warranty, i gt see one manual that is in japanese and the shop give me one photocopy in english. The only warranty that i see is in yellow colour but it stated the lens kit only.
http://ahcheng.blogs.friendster.com/photos/new_camera/lenses_warranty.jpg And on the invoice, it stated the warranty for one year. So i guess after consulting so many ppl, my is indeed an export set and pray hard that it will nt collapse within the first year. :bheart:

Myself to blame for not making a good decision on where to buy.

LOL, anyway, I'm a right hander, but with a left master eye. So the viewfinder naturally finds it way to the left eye. Its just a matter of getting used to it. Just practise a bit more, things would be better...

You should have paid attention to the recommended shop list... Sigh.
