i personally feel that the photoshoot should just state the theme. if it is a student-themed shot, then call it a student-themed shot. don't need to put stuff like sexy, etc.

that said, even then, i don't really think it will solve the problem of supply and demand, but at least it will not be so blatant. the quality of the themes are really bleh bleh bleh sometimes. i recall a recent policewoman shot looking as though it is just skimpily dressed girl holding gun?

NTU & NUS have been strategically re-positioned by these people...

so go and police then and shame them in their thread then. i saw again this belongs in razor's thread. IT's the same thing again and again. Really beating the same dead horse again and again man.

As ortega mentioned, some measures has already been put in and some of the organisers have already tamed down their sex sells tactics ...

But I believe once in a while this is still necessary to "notify the authorities" that what they term tame has gone out of hand again.

all i see is someone fancying himself the moral police and beating the same old drum again. like i said if he has such an issue with this why doesn't he go take it up with the organizers?

These model shoots have many photogs getting the same shots, and we're paying for it. And then, (i think) some even have all the lighting equipment set up for you. No freedom for creativity for the photog!

A bit of OT here .....

For those photog who want to be more creative and have different shots from the others ... they usually will not bother to join these shoots. They would do their own private shoots and create their own image ... the photos that they want ... not what the organisers dictate.

I do not want to promote certain people or group as I have so far only done only 1 paid shot but is going for another one soon. Some of my friends ask why I pay so much for a shoot when I can get 3 models at half the price...:bigeyes:

I am not a professional photographer and all I want to do is to learn to do a good enough job to shot my family and friends. I have now skipped certain photographers posting as I do not think I am going to learn anything from them and to be frank...sometime I feel embarassed by what I see...these so called "models"

I believe that if I am attending a more professional setup, as as what Nightmare said, those who provides proper lightings and props, my photo will be nicer. I really do not mind spending 2 to 3 folds more than what some are offered here to ensure that i do learn something and that I do get quality for what I paid for. Rather than spending money and joing a shoot that more than 6 gwc all rushing to shoot the models and end up all getting crappy angels and shoot, I am just more selective in paying more for a smaller group.

If I want to clocks up numbers of model shoots (well..some are indeed photogenic and good models), I do not see why I need to pay 20 bucks for a shoot when I am sure that I can can get wiling models easily by hanging around orchard road

All I need to do is to carry ALL MY EQ. XMM see big big camera, big big tripod, big big flash and they will think " wow pro camera here lah...my photo sure turn up nice one". Likewise, its the same that when you drive a SLK and just hang around St James, there will ALWAYS be some willing xmm who wants to jump in. (Thats why you see sweet young thing with old man in porsche).

However, are you looking for quality or quantity ? Out of the many "models" that has been mass promoted in CS, close to 60%-70%( I could have been generous here) are just someone who falls into the category of "female". For GOD SAKE ! Please do not call them models as they are FAR from it !

Some argues that it is the photographer who helps model pose but do you think the models know how to pose in a few hours ?

Some of the makeup in the "el cheapo" shoots are so crappy. Accessories and clothings are really cheesy. To be frank, if I shoot them, i will not show them out in public....I am embarassed to show my friends that I paid for these shoot :embrass:!

However, whatever I have said is quite uselss, if there is a demand, there will be supply. How can CS cut them off ? If CS starts controlling these new "promoters", then these promoters can easily all come together and start another site and trust me, all these GWCs will all flock there.

End of the day, this is a free market. There will always be people who flocks to g2000 and there will be people who only will only buy from Zara, and some will not go anywhere except AX. :dunno:

In the meantime, if budget allows, I will stick to my Zara. If no money, I save and wait.

There are photog who go to these shoots to clock up number of models they have shot or how many times they have shot a particular model .... Its like a trophy rack or a score card that they keep with them ....

There is already another website/forum for models ... and some of these shoots are also advertised there ... so it doesn't take CS to cut them off ... The organisers will look for other bases to expand their business potential ... and of course GWC will flock there.

You are right on this point ... Its a free market ... different strokes for different folks ... At the end of the day ... they guy that buys from G2000 may not get the same quality ... but he has more clothes than the guy who buys from Zara and AX. He will be able to wear something new every other day ...

Call me conservative, old fashion, idealist or whatever. Yes sex sell, but do we need any of this ? does CS "sell sex" or "promote it" if no then we should never encourage it, period.

The TS has a good moral ground and stand and I too subscribe to his statement.

Perhaps some members can give some suggestions on the terms and condition for the wordings and OB markers for Organisers.

Fully agreed with chngpe01's view.

I've said this in the other thread and I'll say this here, what can we, as a member do? We're not allowed to post non-related posting on the shoot org'er's thread. Protest with our wallets? Look at the rate the shoot is going, it proves that it's not working.

CS have gone from being mentioned by the Prime Minister of SG during his National Day Rally as a forum where people come together with a common interest, to the other end, of being mentioned by The New Paper, as being a place where "Sexy and Questionable" shoot are being org.

Though I agreed that things are "tamer" now compaired to about 3 months ago, we're not out of the **** hole yet, we're just not sinking anymore, not sinking but still in the **** hole.

So, the question remain,
" What do we want CS to be? From, ClubSnap --to--> ClubSexy --to--> ClubSex ? "
" What can we do about it? "
" Are we going to do anything about it? "
