Hands-on with Pentax K-5 :)

i am a poor person. :bsmilie:

wait till u start a family, then u know what is poor... :bsmilie:

anyway i have not jump into it myself... dun really need it, its more of a want...

if u still can leave with the dumb DFS time delay then i dun think u should spend unneccessary money... get lee filters... i think its a good investment... or you already have lee filters ?

I want to have a K5 sent to me from Singapore since it seems like the US price will take forever to fall to the magic price.. :(

I was thinking of doing that too, get in-laws to bring over when they come visit. Actually called Ronald up to ask about warranty, but it's only SG warranty... :( Wondering still if I should just risk it, or just wait it out for a while. Either way, I won't be getting the K-5 till early next year or so....

Based on someone's old data on pentaxforum, the K-7 price in the US took about 6 months after initial launch to drop 20%, wonder if the trend will hold for the K-5....

no need lee la, at most get hi-tech....

the whole thing including filter holders, so expensive....

same here, it is a want... but really, the long exposure NR process is pain in the arse. especially when it really doesn't add much value. if it made the images 8000 times better i would live with it... but it doesn't!!!!!!!!!

K-5 got time lapse feature ?

Methinks the raw video footage was spliced together during editing for the time lapse.
But it looks like this sensor can withstand long exposure times.

oh.. ok, time lapse requires a lot of editing work... then im keeping my video cam for some funny videos... :bsmilie:

Does the K5 allow autofocus during video? Tempted to upgrade from my K7. I like taking portraits under natural light, sometimes indoors too. Rarely exceed ISO 800 because of noise on the K7. What do the upgraders from K7 to K5 think?

dunno what the other upgrader feel. I've *istD, K10d, K-x and now K-5. The new K-5 is damn good at hi-iso and the greatly improved AF speed in low-light. K-x is already very good at hi-iso, yet K5 is even better in this aspect. My indoors portraits on my baby girl is usually 1600 with K-x. Now with K-5, I can safely push one stop up to 3200. =)

Actually to me, the AF speed is what I need more. After so many years of using Pentax. They finally fixed their weakest link. I am over-joyed with K-5!.

cheerss..

Very much so.
Now, I can simply set my Auto ISO to 80-6400 without any doubt in my head about picture quality. Very useful during events.

AF is indeed a great leap forward, that no one can really find fault with Pentax on now.

:mad2::mad2:Who want my Silver K7?

My question is only about getting a black k-5 or a silver k-5. ;)

Dumping the K20D for K5 bro ? I'm doing the same as well, just waiting for the prices in China. ;p

No really, I wanted to sell my K20D but i don't think no one would want it even with a very cheap price.

Most likely I will buy it, I will travel again end of this year so a new cam would be nice.
I prefer a silver one but i dont think i can wait for that lar...

Emjay still not yet reply my mail....
