GX1 coming on November 8! With G3 sensor + specs leaked!

Man, I can't find the LVF2 on eBay. Only on Amazon, but it's not from Amazon. One of those sellers offering their stuff on Amazon... :(

Yup, Wee selling the body and keeping the lens. Just now I fix on my 20mm and tried several indoor shots using the touchscreen focus and shoot. I like it lah, this is a very good feature, if only it had the articulated LCD screen, would make it even better with the touch screen focus shoot.

No regrets selling my GF1.

Then side grade to a G3? ;)

Fengwei never get a GX1? :D

Think he's waiting for santa to bring him one XD

ermm..bought GX1 at HN yesterday, today passed by MSC, asked how much original battery cost---$119!!! and 3rd party $45...!!!

I bought 2 pieces of 3rd party (microchipped) from one of the shops in this forum, waiting for delivery some time next week. Less than SGD35 per piece after discount

Just sayin'. :) 'cause I have seen people try to order batteries only to get them rejected at the customs. :( Better safe than sorry, even though it's a gamble.

I think it stems from the appearance of batteries on XRay or scanners. Once I was stopped by the checkpoint before boarding the flight cos of my batteries. I had 4 of them lying inside my hand carry. As a results I need to take out everything in the bag to convince then those are really batteries for my camera

1. No, I dun think it has anything to do with the shape. Loose batteries are not allowed unless 'installed' in the equipment. I am been stopped numerous times at the airport. Once, I had 3 spare Nikon cam batteries and 8 spare AA for my flash, and they only let me go after much much hesitation... they know is batteries, asked me why must carry so many... why dun I checked in......Apparently batteries are considered potentially dangerous items...

2. Importing battery (those type we are talking about here) from USA.... This is USA custom restriction. if it can reach Singapore, I dun think our custom will stop it.

Hi - how is everyone adjusting so far to using only the LCD screen? I am a Canon 60D convert to the GX1.
With my 60D, I never once used the LCD screen - always using the view finder. Thus I find it difficult to frame and focus on specific objects or trying to get bokeh effects...

Do you think the EVF will help?

For those experienced micro 4/3 users, how do you cope with just the LCD screen? Thanks for any tips...

If you have used pns cameras or iphone/smartphones to take photos, then GX1 or any other cameras with LCD is not much difference.

BTW bokeh effect is not caused by the VF or LCD screen, many other factors like sensor size, lens aperture, distance, etc affects it.

Canon/Nikon when using LCD is useless as the contrast detect AF is painfully slow. If you have used Sony DSLR/Ts, then the focusing using the LCD is as fast as using VF.

Thanks Ouverture.

I understand about bokeh and aperture, distance etc. However, with a view finder, I somehow find it easier to zoom in and focus on the object I want and blur everthing else out (aperture setting, distance all set before hand) - much faster to get what I want - using the LCD screen with your eye some distance away and looking at the screen somehow makes it more difficult and not so instant response from me.

I don't know lah, just playing around with my GX1 last few days and getting used to having my eye away from the view finder (when is the LVF2 coming!!!!! I need you!!!! I have view finder withdrawal symptoms now!!!!!
