First, public transport hike..now GST and wats next?
Where's our opposition's voice? Too bad its too soft nobody can hear becos we chose not to lend our support to the opposition parties in the first place!;p

u change the ruling party, u change the rules... many people didn't realise that esp the elder folks. they r making noises about new ERP gantries, price hikes, no aid cos "in betweener" syndrome or taking too long to look into their situation, etc.

During the election, I heard a few friends said "Better vote for P-A-P, else later they see we never vote for them in our ballot slips we may get into trouble with the govt!"
Hahaha, it is really silly but whoever the clowns who spread such rumours really made this scare into one effective deterrent for some people who comtemplated voting for the oppositions.

Unfortunately, PM Lee simply announced the rise of GST and did not further elaborate or shed light on the 'prospect plans to aid those poor' to at least give the citizens a glimpse of what's expected.

The world is going backwards at a much faster pace than it used to be.
With technology advances, countries opening up, the simple human logic goes - Why must I buy from another country when I can produce it myself and cut costs?
The other country sees that others are producing it at a lower cost and outsources productions eventually leading to a rise in economy for the other country and when carried out too drastically, the country that outsources work in turn suffers domestically.
Raising taxes and stuff are all linked (and not mutually exclusive to Singapore) if we were to strip all the nitty-gritty bits away and looking at the problem down in the root. I'm wondering at some appalling mentality of carrying the idea of 'living a good life' right to the extremes - the mindless pursuit of 5Cs and living out caught in a debt of high lives, expenses & hobbies.

Lax lah. They trying to catch up with the other country. High tax mah.. So they can have bonus. But yet, we are not given priviledge but to give them part of the money. And how is the helping of poor going to work? No idea. What package? An ID to show:"I Poor, No GST pls". Like that counterfiet pass come out.
Gharment only squeeze us, not helping us. This is sure a letdown of ppl losing confident alr. We may have the luxury of using comp at home, but, how abt in next few years? Can we bloody afford it? Everything also wanna control. Ppl wanna oral XXX also wanna control. Whats freedom? Hmm.... Sound like another Ghetto.
