ya lor, easier to count mah, calculator also easier... then can no need to use 1 cent coins... unless someone go buy a 10 cent stuff, ask to pay 11cents... siao rite...

ya see... the benefit of 10%...

1) u just have to take the sum, minus the last digit, voila, 10%... if last digit is 1-9, just treat it as a deposit, i'll collect later...
2) u dun have to bring much coins, cos when u pay 50, u actually give 5 bucks! no coins, when u pay 10, u give 11, no coins again!
3) u won't have to take a calculator to calculate 7%, imagine this... wats 7% of 3.50... err... wait, i need a calculator... ... ...

oh well... like me good fren say, Upset but Accept...

yeah. if you compare to other countries, singapore do not have social welfare services as good as them. unless the government state the ways(in black and white) this increase in tax revenue will improve welfare, this increase is unjustified.:thumbsd:

I feel poorer as I age in this country both spiritually and materially. :cry: :cry:

If u feel poorer materially, well u can help urself by working harder.
If u feel poorer spiritually, sorry I can't help. Neither can the govt help since its all in u.

But if one insists on linking spiritual wealth & material wealth together, when 1 goes down, the other goes down as well.

I wonder what's the logic behind the increase in GST. I dun understand why must compare with other countries when the others get better social benefits and welfare system. How to help the lower income when they also pay the same GST? With the increase in GST, will there be better social programmes and welfare or not?

Some countries are up 'there' where maintaining social benefits are concerned.

For some governments its a 'damned if u do [cut social welfare], damned if u don't [another chunk off for ppl who abuse the system]'
