And you will know why many are willing to pay $8xx or $9xx for this.
The Jpg output really reminds me of my Konica Minolta 5d, very detailed, natural looking, not over-sharpened or pixelated.
In a blind test, I would have thought this was from an APSC sized sensor.

Promotion where RMB 4399 includes Sony 8gb SD card + additional Sony battery. Also have option to buy the case at RMB 399. All this with 2 years warranty is not a bad price. Typically prices in China are higher than Singapore. Seems like they have tons of stock!

Just bought my limited copy of the DSC-RX100 (it ran out when the first batch was available in Singapore last week till some limited stock started appearing today)...
In the few hours I played with it, I must admit I am totally impressed with the IQ of the stills and videos!
The sharpness is incredible! I dare say it is as good as the NEX series of mirrorless cameras and many shots taken could easily passed off as those taken with my Canon DSLR camera with good lenses! Besides great sharpness, color and contrast, one most significant wow factor is the auto focus speed - it is lightning fast!
It is so good I am seriously thinking of leaving my Canon DSLR at home for my next holiday trip to Europe.
S$975 is ok...ask a few more places and you can get slightly less...

Dont get too excited only by looking at the prices..infact their price are always alot better.

Does sony offer International warranty? For Olympus its yes, Panasonic, its no.. just wondering cuz i'm exploring the Rx100 myself.. : )
Only if you get it converted to international warranty at a sonystyle where you bought it...
