went to sony at wisma and held the 135mm 1.8 for a very looooooooong time. $2199... Its such a well balance lens! And the hood, the hood itself is weighty....I'm saving for it. ms color got better price you guys think?

Ask them lor...

I could always just walk in a pick up any of those ultra-expensive lenses... but heart pain lar... don't need them actually... prefer zooms...

has been 2 days...So anyone heard of any price adjustments in HK?

Or the price drop is only for Sg? :D

Yupe... this is not EMDW... anyway when he first join already got people tell him not to OT... so let's not OT also...

Did any see the Nikon price list in the papers yesterday? Their 24-70mm also about $2499... same as the SONY version... like that the price quite comparable right?

I guess that's something to note, Sony's prices are comparable with Nikon's VR lenses

Sony lenses are w/o VR and they're about the same price.
Naturally, pple would expect much better optical glass quality in Sony's with the same price as nikon's VR lenses. But are they better? not all the time right?

Sony's standard reply would be, the SS feature enables all lenses (including those from th glory days of Minolta and many others from 3rd party lenses) to have image stabilization features; SS isn't meant to lower the price of lenses..
:dunno:

Anyone knows where's the best place to get a 16-80CZ in terms of price? I asked at one shop, but not much of a discount...

Thinking of getting from HK... :(

Not exactly true... the SONY 24-70 is a CZ lens... so it a bit special... enough to compensate for the VR feature... the Nikon lens is not from a special line of lenses if I read the lens name correctly... what do Nikon call their special line of lenses? The equivalent of L lenses or G lenses/CZ lenses?

That wasn't a Nikon lens, it was a Contax lens modified with a Nikon mount. MF only. Most contax lenses were actually converted for the Canon system, but it seems those CZ lenses are not up to the same sharpness that the Sony ones have.

Hi just curious to know, what is the best price for the Sony CZ 85mm F1.4 in sg currently? Is it cheaper to get from Hongkong? :)
