thanks for the link.

i am surely keeping the HD570 for as long as it lasts, while i am never really into audio stuff that deeply & $$, knowing wads good currently cant be a bad thing. rather than paying for a unit thats obsolete & maybe overpriced (by some stores...).

i prefer off shelf items with less "upgrade" path, too complicated. for music, i try not to get too distracted by all the gadgets. same goes for photography, less is more.

Headphones can cost over S$1K as well, then buy amplification, buy source, buy this buy that, end up expensive like DSLRs ;p

A Stax SRS-007 MKII earspeakers costs over S$7k. Ultimate Ears are nothing compared to the king of headphones.

If I am to pay this amount, I would rather buy a hi-fi system.

Well.... I believe Wilson has one.

Yes, it is the sweetest thing no doubt but not really a practical solution for everyday casual listening (not even the Stax SRS-007 MKII). The amp unit is huge! Too me, headphones must be portable.

As I had written above, for that kind of price and function, I would rather invest on a hi-fi system.

For about $10K, I can setup quite a decent home system that pleases even the critics.

anybody have Denon's or JBL's IEM? would like some review if possible. Denon's budget model seem good, under $70 at Audio House at Liang Court. ;p

Go Jade at Shaw Centre. They carry a wide-range of Denon earphones and headphones.

The uncle there will give you 'student' price even if when you are not a student.

the Denon AH C350/1 & Sennheiser CX300 & my current Sony share striking similiar designs. Denon being cheapest (but dunno good anot) of the lot. JBL oso have but priced near Sennheiser, so no 'fight' liao. :sweatsm:

HI Everyone,

I take the train and use my Ipod and the bundled earphone to listen to music. To overcome the noise of the trains, I tend to push up the vol quite high. Overtime, i think there is some bad effects of loud earphones to the ear.

I thought of buying a set of headphones/earphones to block out the noise so that I dun have to push up the vol of the Ipod too loud. Any recommendations?

I finally bought an Audio Technica inner-ear headphones ATH-CKM50 after considering my needs, budget and usage.

Cost me $68 at Stereo Causeway point. As I initially want to keep the MRT noise out, an inner -ear version seems to works better than normal one. and since i dun really need high-end true hi-fi on the road, an decent entry level will do for me.

Yes, the AKG K240 Studio. It should costs between $240 and $270. Definitely better (in term of sound quality and built) than the Sennheiser HD280 in my opinion.

Bose headphones, earphones (and Acoustimass speakers) sounded awfully colored, separated and boomy. I don't understand why so many people love them.

The only Bose product I find decent is the 901 speakers.
