For less than $100, I suggest you to DIY an amp. You can make a clone Grado RA1 for less than $20.

I believe it will sound smooth and bodied (the usual sound characteristics associated with tube amps), as compared to op-amp driven ones.

yah can.. no problem. at first i was thinking of making a prototype casing... where the mould is made from machining into "cibartool" and just poor resin over it....

havent ventured into the design process yet. but i am doing alot of readup before i go buy the parts this weekends. :bsmilie::bsmilie:

You want quality have to pay for it. Did you try any of the entry level Audio techinca line like the sq-5 or fc-700 ?

Go jaben and try out the mylar bijous I think they got the denon's too so you can do a head to head comparison.
