wow 6x17 landscape... can hardly imagine.
cant even start to visualise the size of the camera.

A dream to get paid to do shoot overseas.

Yes, 6x7 is big, but 6x12 is bigger and 6x17 is longest. The longest is, I think 6x20.needs a center filter.

I brought along the backs of 6x7,6x12 and 6x17.....99.9% I am using 6x17 :D

Even the shorter lenses on the 6x17 needs a centre filter.

I think there is one with 360 degree format. Can't remember the name.

Hi,

I think the 1st "outing/coffee" will be for getting acquainted with MF cameras. You will get a chance to feel the MF cams.

2nd "outing" to shoot at Kranji as proposed by nightwolf75, maybe when you guys have gotten your MF cams? It is rather out of the way without transport.

Puffish, did you manage to handle/hold the cams in the shops to get a feel if you like them?

Can live without AF? Most MF cams are manual focusing. Some of my frens cannot do without AF.

If that is the case.....Dreamseeker do you mind shedding us some lights as to when u are free or available to meet up so that we can get acquainted with MF camera....

puffish and megabyte: what say u?since maybe dreamseeker is bring his camera, its naturally that we check with his schedule first? as for other MF user who dun mind and want to join us...it will be more the merrrier...:bsmilie:

if u getting the Medium for serious tripod shooting most of the time,i would look at the field camera instead.

i'm using a 4x5 field camera with a roll film back which is quite affordable.

yup we will definately decide when to meet accodring to dreamseeker's schedule.

he's the main person for this afterall.

Justmeandjo, I got no objections to the meetup as well as other MF users who would like to join in.

I've already got a couple of doubts to clarify. ;)

Regards

I'd be happy to join in for some medium format shooting. Please keep me posted via email to sf_kang@pacific.net.sg
I shoot with Hassy's; a 503CXi with an CF T*80mm/2.8 Plannar and CF T*180mm/4, and also a 903SWC with the built-in CF T*38mm/2.8 Biogon.

I also have quite a bit of 120 T-Max and HP-5 left over from previous project. Can give each one like 5 rolls f.o.c.

Keep in touch.

Guys,

So currently it will be megabyte, puffish, justmeandjo for the coffee session. You guys want to meet during the hols Raya/Deepavali or earlier?

Since the group not so big, it would be easier to arrange for a coffee session. If you guys want to test out the cams, I would suggest a bring along a tripod and slide film.

We keep sf_kang informed also.

thanks dreamseeker for getting the coffee meet started.
I am ok to meet during the hol period as that's a higher chance
all involved will be free.

btw slide film means chrome film right?

in a sense, yes. cos slide films from fuji and kodak are labelled as fujichrome or kodachrome.

anyway, its a good idea to have a coffee meet rather dan a shooting trip. as u know, MF shooting is a very slow process. so, too many people running ard will only get in each other's way, esp when shooting landscapes. this was wat happened in my previous MF shoot.

wat i can suggest is dat on either of the holidays, meet at peninsular's BK outlet in the basement and chat. during the public holiday, the area ard peninsular shld be pretty quite. everyone just buy a drink or a packet of fries and no one will disturb u for a long time. ;)

I'll bring down my rolleiflex TLR and maybe bronica SQA (w/3 lens).

Do keep me posted, I can bring two MF cameras for you guys to try: Pentacon 6TL and Bronica SQ-Ai. Would love the opportunity to try other cameras! Keep me posted OK? Thanks.

Can I join? :embrass: Just inherited a Rolliflex from my dad but have no idea what to do with it? :bsmilie: Thanks to nightwolf who taught silly me how to load the film :p

Cheers~
