I saw the posting, but wonder what's the point of everyone meeting up at the bridge, shooting the same scene and not much lee-way for expression.

Frankly, I'm still waiting for words on the no-metering shoot-out. It should be good fun to test everyone's fundamental in photography.

I beg to differ, but I don't think that being able to expose without using a meter is a fundamental of photography.

Sure, things like sunny 16 will get you useable pictures in a pinch and if you use BW you have more leeway, but choosing to rely purely on an educated guesstimate in this day when cheap meters abound is... :)

to each his/her own. mebbe i'm just a noobie. personally, i always found photographing the simplest thing (eg a bunch of buildings) the hardest. perhaps its not as challenging to a pro like u. :embrass:

in any case, this is meant to be a get-together for MF/LF enthusiasts, especially for those who missed the last meeting. not easy finding people nowadays who share the same interests like shooting MF/LF today. personally, i would love an opportunity to meet other more seasoned users and pick up tips from them.

if u are keen on the no-metering shoot, perhaps u would like to take the initative and organise one? i'm sure there are like-minded people who love to take up the challenge.

The issue here is to have an outing for those who enjoy shooting medium format. Metering with light meter, or prism meter or no assistance is secondary. By all means, bring a hand held meter along and use it when you feel like doing so. For some, they may want to take the challenge of estimating the exposure by experience. Let's just enjoy photography in whatever form it makes sense to you.

Good day Guys

jamesong: I've heard of the 7II but isn't the 7II MF cams? Would you mind if I take a look at your 645 slides and the 7II slides through a side by side comparison?

Regards

Megabyte, I have PM you this morning.

James Song.
