Gentle reminder to check prices before buying pre-owned from BnS

One guy selling Nikon D700 + SB900 + 50mm f1.8D at $3300 and still say "My lost ur gain!"

Come on D700 pre-owned is like $2300-2400, SB900 $450-500, 50mm $120, max only $3000, the $300 extra is school fees.

These sellers with only 1 or 2 posts are actually regular members on the forum, they register new account just to sell things, maybe in less upright manner and thereafter their account just disappear.

Clubsnap administrators might wish to consider restricting members with less than certain amount of posts and less than certain amount of months of membership from posting in buy/sell and Services Wanted sections. This will reduce chances of bad dealing and greatly reduce the amount of spam and administrative efforts to remove and police them.

No use one. Then these people will just post junk or generic messages like "Nice photo" in every photo thread just to rake up the post counts...

Another "My loss your gain" nonsense; 24-85 f3.5-4.5 selling $450!!!?

Man, I bought mine at around $300 only last time mint condition with box papers and hood.

Seriously if you have $450, you should be looking to buy the excellent Tamron 28-75 f2.8 if your on FX or the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 if you are on DX.

NOT a variable aperture slow zoom...

cant blame him also, maybe trying to recoup the 120 he spent.. at least that lens comes with 6mnths warranty...

i think a fair price would be 300-370... anything above 400 seems overpriced

I saw a thread selling a Sigma 70-300 non os, for 400!, so I sms-ed him, hi urs is os or non osm he replied non os, so i told him that new 1 only cost 2xx and he replied me mine can macro... -.-! and he bought it at 6xx last time~~~

I was like, hmm ok good luck haha

so it's better to do some research b4 buying.. sometime its more worth it to get a new 1 than a used 1 here..

Oei why u sell so low! hehe...now i want to sell mine mint 24-85mm for $450 also cannot liaoz :P

Coz mine no hood, no papers, no box, markings a little faded.. but optics perfect :P

Found a Nikon 70-300mm VR going for $800 in B&S now... :dunno:

Had met many dishonest people and sad to said a significant are encountered via CS BnS.

Trying to pass bad condition as mint with false and misleading words, hiding faults, not disclosing problems or temporary fixing a problem visually first and selling to get rid of that piece of gear, withhelding parts, switching out original parts, even just a lens cap they also shiok, going back on word on personal warranty, making returns difficult, etc

They complain openly about SLS shops or Ba||y being unscrupulous and shady but their own attitude on BnS put them in the same class as those shops. If those shops are syndicated 'black shops' then these CSers will be independent conmen.

What is our society coming to? Where are the values of fairness and honesty?

When coming to sell gear very few are willing to lower $5 to help another photog but when come to jobs, many are vert willing to lower $500 to undercut another photog. Why are people so destructive to each other?

The 'low ballers' word had been used way too loosely very often it's the seller trying to score a high hit than cheapos low balling. There are cheapos around too but the opposite is more often true on BnS.

Spotted a $300 Nikon AF-S 50mm f/1.8G... :dunno:

PM only if you are agreeable to his price too.

Another 'Sms me only if you agree the price.' thread selling old D3s at $6200.

WTF, brand new is $6400, if you are spending more than $6000 buying camera why would anyone save $200 by buying pre-owned one with half year's warranty gone?

Dream on.

After a few months nobody SMS or PM, either lanlan keep or register new account to sell at acceptable price. Cannot use same account as they paiseh.
