if you are queuing for long periods..
bring umbrella, sunblock to protect yourself and your equipment..

hmm.. this weekend think i'll be going to take fireworks. hee.. anyone interested??

dun have a tripod, anyone got 1 to borrow? I'll like to go :dunno:

although i am not going down to shoot the fireworks.. just my 2cents..

Esplanade bridge tends to get alot of smoke.. (based on previous experiences of SFF)..

Hmm.. since the smoke is from the fireworks. To me it doesnt matter where it's taken from le. Anyway where would you suggest that it'll be less smoke?

Hi all! welcome to our thread, age doesnt matter here, we're all here to learn and enjoy photography. Feel free to join us for our outing, infact you're welcome to organise a outing here too. By the way, there'll going to be a outing this sun, new year's eve to go take fireworks at esplanade bridge. The fireworks will be show casing at 2200, 2230, 2300, 2350 IIRC. Details coming up. those going should be prepared for rain and very crowded area. ;)

May I also add that, in my humble opinion that, though your camera need not be DSLR, but it at least have to have some manual features to control the apeture and shutter speed.

haha....ECP i think all you get to see is small fireworks lo:bsmilie:

or were you expecting Benjamin Sheares bridge instead??

Benjamin shears bridge would be a nice place for shooting, But to capture the whole fireworks you'll need a ultra wide angle such as 10-22 for our 1.6x crop dslr. Unless you dont mind taking tight shoots of the fireworks.

what kynoe say is true, however doesnt necessary to have slow shutter speed to take fireworks, you can use fast shutter speed to freeze the action or place multiple pics together using ps.

anyway i'll be walking over to the bridge from raffles place mrt station at 5.45pm. See ya guys there!

suggest pack some food and eat there, we meet at 5.45 at the bridge, many hours of waiting, ample time without thing to do :bsmilie:

dun be surprise to see peoplke already laying their mats there since 4pm

Hmm.. think i'll have one, but have to go dig my storeroom. Hee.. Anyway what stepup you'll be using? cause it's a cosumer tripod, cant hold very heavy setup.

Hi All,

This is my first year shooting fireworks and whatever... Can someone tell me what other equipment do we need other than our own camera?

;)

you'll need a sturdy tripod, or at least stable, a cable release is recommended too. maybe a small torch to shine when you're packing your stuff after the fireworks.. Oh ya.. and a wide angle lens if you prefer to take the whole show rather than close shoot.

can help test the tripod, can take sharp pics with your cam and kit lens? if does not resonate, should be able to take my cam. Cheers!
