Gallery - (more) humble Nikon Lenses

i think its quite weird to term lenses to be 'humble' its simply implying that like a 24-70 is a 'proud' lense? im just joking, but i feel if u want to have such a thread, i think its best to be specific with your parameters. i think a better definition of 'humble' would be 'under a thousand bucks' unless u want to create a list of 'humble' lenses.

shot by nikon coolpix s640 - Lens ? built-in

i'm a poor man. got this free coolpix by winning the "YOG Caption" contest recently.

so, i took a shot of a stray cat near my hdb flat.

i name it "Little Tiger"

hope this can make it in this thread, since it was taken by a "Nikon" camera, although, not a DSLR :embrass:

hope you like it, nonetheless

Seems like the 18-70mm kit lens is our favourite lens in this thread!

I shall add a few more to this very humble lens. Personally i prefer this over the tamron 17-50 f2.8. The focussing is faster and i find it just as sharp and as contrasty.

Played with this cheapo E lens which I got lately. It renders quite nice out of focus background though.

Hi all, the following pictures are taken with a D300s/D70s with a nikkor 180mm f2.8 AIS ED. I believed this to be a humble nikon lens as 1) its pretty beaten up when i got it and 2) its a manual focus lens. Hope you people enjoy the following pictures. :)

Straight out of camera, jpeg fine. No pp whatsoever except resize and border.

Flare performance. I almost got blinded. Its not easy to have the sun in the image on a 270mm eqv lens.

Weird black blobs and fine scratches.
Somehow it does not affect the sharpness, colour or flare at all in my opinion. :D Jus don't look that nice cosmetically.
