i like the idea of this gallery for all the not-so-expensive lenses.

can i suggest 2 things to keep this thread managable?

a) please (if you can) list down the entire designation of the lens - ie, all the alphabets and watnots of the complete lens' name. this will make searching on the CS engine much easier. better still if you can tag your posts with keywords.

b) kindly refrain from commenting on the lens, the pictures, or asking questions about the lens' performance etc... this will keep the thread tidy and not to bust the 1000-post limit on all threads. if you want to review the lens, please do it in another thread or post it inside General Tech sub-forum.

c) pls follow the guidelines (http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=109839)

thanks folks! :)

It looks like we get to keep this humble thread...

Maybe mod can sticky this?

DX lens used as FX.

AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G on D3, full frame, close distance shooting - no vignette at all.

Larger.

Ditto, normal distance - vignette obvious. Maybe some like it that way?

Can we have a standard format because people can write it in different ways.

For example, AF50mm/1.8D or AF 50mm f/1.8D (with spaces) or even AF-D50/1.8. I think searching with these numbers could never give me what I was looking for.

Most of the time I'll drop the f and mm and have the focal length and aperture as an entire block. So I would write 35/1.8 or 18-200/3.5-5.6. Usually never put the letters because there doesn't seem to be a standard format (space or no space).

i will leave it for the community to decide on the format. i'm sure you all can come up with something that everyone agrees upon, rather than have the mods decide... and make everyone unhappy.

gentle reminder to all - please just post pics taken by the humble lenses, kindly refrain from giving comments/questions about other people's pics and lenses.

Lens worth keeping?

I simply had to take this shot just moments ago. It's not always the lens. Many factors contribute to a photo... the lighting, the composition, the colour, the mood..
