Even PM Lee likes the humble 50mm f/1.8D.

Just in case anyone thinks this is a bunch of sorry folks who only have the humble lenses, many who have posted have he-men rigs.... A few of mine include D300, (Micro Nikkors) AFS 60, AFS 105 and AFD 200; AFD 80-200mm f/2.8; AFS 50mm f/1.4G; and some not so he-men stuff.

Nuf said, here's one from AFS 18-105mm:

It looks to me the older lenses have weaker colours, similar sharpness, comparing the Ai and the non-Ai versions. What's your experience?

Same setting as previous post.

My AFS 35mm f/1.8G DX appears noticeably sharper than the AF 35mm f/2. What's your experience?

For someone with a nick diediealsomustdive, this is not complete without a shot or 2 from the realm of Neptune.

I think the picture quality is pretty good, what do you think?

When I go out to the sea, I often do the first dives with my cheapest lens, in case I get a flooding that the damage is limited to the dSLR and the el cheapo kit lens.

MY experience with the 18-55 version I is that this is an adequate lens, but excels only when there is really good brightness and contrast. Bought after reading the glowing review of one KRW, and was bitterly disappointed. Still have the lens and used it recently in Indonesia under more pleasant conditions, like climbing a volcano, he he. The el cheapo that I am, I recently bought the VR version to try out. Hope to test the VR one soon.
