Hi, can you show us the IQ difference between EP2 and EP3?

Got..u showed me the difference..that's what really 'kick' me into the ep3 camp....and the super fast focusing make faster with the PL 25/1.4..damn cant stop thinking abt it. Think I will be getting the 45mm/F1.8 too to play play since its so cheap..hopefully this few wekks..

Tested this lens with the nokton 25/0.95 yesterday courtesy of an old mate, it's a very good lens, with nice bokeh and sharpness, weight and fast AF on the EP3 too. Friend tried on his EP2, it's slightly slower AF.
Agree it's good for portraits. There's slight noise but not much of a bother.
Though given a choice, my nokton stays + 20mm if i needed AF. the nokton has 0.17m close distance focusing which can be real useful.
But if given only 1 choice among this 3 lens, i will go with this PL 25/1.4 for the AF convenience. It's tempting...

+1. This is exactly what I think too.

Checked shops at funan, ms color and parisilk. All out of stock now. Good news is stock coming in next Wed. Price about $800.

I got it from CP $818 incl GST payment by Visa. TK oso got one pcs, but wanted more $ becoz it's last one. Yes, confirmed next batch will be price $800, but i m already there, parking n ERP already cost $6, not worth to wait and waste time n $ for next batch.

Happy shooting, folks!

When will the next batch arrive? I'm tempted to get after seeing all those gorgeous shots!

Yes, it is definitely different from the kit lens. I like my shots better now. Heheheh

Any idea if any of the retailers have stock or when the stock is coming in? Tried a couple of shops with no stock and idea when the stock will be arriving.

Ms color have stock I think , just bought it on Sat

oh? i called them yesterday they say no stock, need to place deposit to book.
Maybe i'm not one of their regulars so they will not sell me.

I think i saw it in Alan Photo @SLS yesterday while hooting lens from there

thanks for the info! will call them to check. Will want to try to pick up tomorrow.
Hope you had a good lens catch yesterday. :)

Just checked. AP say they don't have stock. But coming in 1-2 weeks.

Reading through how some people test the lens by going into the shop and taking a few photos with the Leica lens and then looking in the camera LCD to decide that it's as sharp as their Panasonic 1.7 seems incorrect. Don't you need to download into a computer and pixel peep?

Edit: I found a resolution test on an Australian website. You can see that the Leica is far sharper than the Panny on JPEGs (you compare the red and blue lines between the 2 graphs. Ignore the RAW)

Here is the Leica 1.4

Yes agreed. Its hard to judge sharpness and colour AND bokeh from camera lcd screens. At the minimum, u should have it on a colour calibrated computer screen. Thanks for posting the info. Good to know!
In any case i alrdy hv the lens. I am very pleased with the results. I posted some photos in this thread. I love the colour, the sharpness n the bokeh effect.

Oly5050, like to hear you comment on the below comparison since u have the equipment. Thanks in advance.
EP3+25mm 1.4 vs E5+50mm (i assume this is Zuiko 50mm f2)

which one is better..giving the sensor is almost the same. let say, at f4.

Its a little hard to compare actually since one is 25 mm and one is at 50 mm. If I shoot a scene, do I shoot the 25 mm 2 times closer to get the same FOV, or do I shoot at the same distance and then crop in? In both situations, there will be some differences because the amount of light that is coming to the sensor will be a little less than in the first instance. Anyway, when I get the time, I can try. Probably go and take some facial portraits with these gear and see. But from my experience, I think the 50 mm on the E5 will beat the EP3 25 mm leica. That is what I think.
