Surprisingly, when I mount this lens on my EP3, there isn't any sound at all when the camera is turned on. I had expected it to be noisy from my previous experience with Panasonic lenses and what was reported by new users here earlier on. There was no flickering of the LCD screen too.
Seems to be very sharp even when wide opened. Taken with fill-flash.

Nice pics! This is one heck of a crazy lens...
Did u mount your lens in a brightly lit place? When mounted in moderate lighting, the lens doesnt make noise as far as i can observe.

my regular camera shop (not at berjaya time square) has not call.
that mean he does not have the lens; it is very likely the lens has
not landed in KL yet.
you can try your luck. please give a howler if you can find one.

Singapore street price is around that price also. I've called to ask around. Just that the stocks are not in yet.

I tried mounting it directly under a bright fluorescent light also no sound. Focussing also quite silent and I can't hear anything even when I put my ear to the camera.
When I mount the Lumix 45mm f/2.8 Macro, there is always a sound like mirror slapping (even though there's no mirror in m43 cameras) even in a dimly lit environment.

Parisilk still have 3 sets as of last evening... it will cost much less than that of Cathay Photo but don't expect the low, low price of $779 though.

It's Parislk Holland Village. Should be about halfway between SLRR and Cathay Photo's prices.. that's what I paid anyway. Why don't you call them up to ask first before going down to make sure that there's still stock. Ask for Kevin and get the quote from him... he's the boss there and what he says goes as far as prices are concerned. Use the phone quote as a guide and try your luck to bargain for more discounts if you like when you are there.
Actually, why don't you try to get it first from SLRR or get them to honour that price they quoted to some buyers here if you place an order if it's already out of stock at the moment. Just make sure it's not a grey set unless you don't mind at all.
