I have finally sold my DSLR and am downgrading to point and shoot. I have been thinking about getting a G9. I have enquired the price from different shops though I'd keep you guys updated with the latest prices:
Harvy Norman: $899 (Comes with 4GB memory)
Cathay Photo: Online enquiry $750 (with 4GB memory) Exclusive of GST (800 incl/GST)
Cathay Photo @ Marina square quoted $830 today for the camera and the 4GB memory
Orient Photo: Online enquiry: $790 + 2GB memory card (including GST, with local warranty)
Orient Photo: Online enquiry: $690 without memory card (including GST, with shop warranty)
Dealuseek webstore: English version $730
Dealuseek webstore: Japanese Version $665
Do you guys think the warranty is really required? Have any of you guys had any major problems that required reparing of ur units? I owed a 20D for two years and never used the warranty.
One last thing. If anyone here wants to sell off their G9's let me know.

i heard from other forum discussion about the dust problem. Somehow dunno what reason the dust will be trapped inside the lens and cannot be cleaned from outside ~~ then u need to send back to Canon service center :think:
That's why i bought a lens adapter in order to avoid it.
Here's how to check:
1) Av mode, F8.0
2) 6x Zoom telephoto
3) Shoot a white back ground

Anyone can tell me whether can this battery use on my G9?? Is the mAh too high for G9??
I really worry that the battery will make my new camera spoil..
any advice?

if the warranty doesnt worry you, you should try to get a brand new grey set at ard 600:thumbsup:

There's 1 question i would like to ask about the conversion adapter+ polarizing filter.
Whenever i attached my cpl on top of my uv filter,a shadow will come out from the 4 side of the lcd screen (see the photo below).
Any idea why? is it because my cpl spoil or?
Looks like vignetting, too many filter stacking...... try without the uv filter?
