You did not check for light leak issue when you brought?
Which shop?
Does the shop provide 7days 1-1 exchange policy?
If so, you can bring the cam back to the shop & changed it but call them before you go.
Remember to check dead/bright pixels, light leak issue, etc.

You may also send to CSC for them to adjust the light leak issue if you like the set and have no dead/bright pixels.

By the way, what is yr starting S/N?
You got everythings s$810 nett (G9, extra 3rd party battery, LCD screen protector)?

I got it at $810 nett @ Song Brothers, SLS. Ya, I did not checked it at that time of buying, forgotten about your guide. Referred back to this thread and did a checked, then only realised there's some light leak @ the right bottom corner. My s/n is 5041103***. Picture taken is not affected at all.

However, when I put on the cover, the flash is not able to be used.

I just got my G9 on Monday from AP.

Paid $799 Cash and got the usual freebies, the Canon Pack, 2GB SD...

I did a test for the light leak and dead pix and it was ok. Thanks to AP for being so nice and waiting even though it was close to closing time.

I'm now looking for the wide angle converter and a handgrip.

Hi there, just to be sure I din get it wrongly. U paid $810nett with all the freebies U mentioned including the original canon bag, SD, screen protector, 3rd party batt etc? Is the 2gb SD just a normal speed SD?

That seems like a best deal price so far for this Cam. Though I have my reserves about S*ng Br*thers. (lotsa bad complains) in the past.

If purely using the adapter with a filter, it is safe.

If we add a wide-angle lens on the adapter, then I not sure.

If getting the adapter from Canon (which is plastic)...it cost around S$40-S$50.

Lensmate (aluminium) is abit expensive...due to the shipping cost.

Yup, you are not wrong... I got everything for $810/- nett (standard canon free gifts + 3rd party battery & screen protector). The Sandisk 2gb card is a normal speed type.

IMHO, apart from the feel good factor of not having a defective LCD, as ong as it dun affect the picture I dun see it as a problem. Then again, its my own opinion.
