My batt has been charged 3rd time. I've been shooting with both LCD & Flash and battery is still good. Its already done 205 shots.
So i guess the battery wasn't break-in at that time. Now it has.

I was surprised about the cost. Bought it for $75, but I think you can get it cheaper, as I traded in the ordinary 2GB card for this higher capacity card.

Looks like the G9 power consumption is just like what is stated in the manual. I managed 230 shots before it ask me to change the battery pack. Thats very close to CIPA standard.

I am based in the UK and at the end of the year will be taking a holiday to your part of the world, Singapore and Malaysia. (I can't WAIT!!!)

I absolutely must have a Canon G9, I have been lusting over it since it came out.

My questions are;
1. How much can I expect to pay for a G9 in Singapore?
2. Would it be cheaper in Malaysia?
3. Does anyone know if the guarantee is worldwide?

In the UK they are currently retailing on the internet at about £310. The problem I have is I don't know if I can wait until the end of the year.......

There's tourist warranty on the G9. Get it from the shops.

1. Maybe this may help as I was comparing Singapore and Malaysia prices as well. The price in Singapore and Malaysia are about the same (RM1999, if ask for discount in certain stores, RM1888), but if you don't pay tax if you are a foreigner, it is just S$750. Both guarantees are world wide. Both will give you 2GB SD free, but no casing.

Does anyone has a proper LCD protector for the G9? I mean, the size that covers the whole area of the LCD instead of just the 3" viewing area. Any recommendations? Thank you.

I used a normal screen protector and just cut it to the desired size.. my cutting was horrible though Just did a search and came up with the following

My cutting is going to be horrible too if I were to do it. Therefore looking for the exact size if there's any. Cause can't seem to finnd it anywhere.

As i got my set from John 3:16, one of the staff (Leslie) cut 1 to size for me. I think u can go and buy a protector and they'll cut for u. But go during their lull.

Hmm....thats the problem. I didn't get myself from them. A bit paiseh to ask Leslie to help cut it. Had wanted to buy from them initially but no one pick up the phone on the day the G9 was supposed to be in stores. Sigh....
Leslie did a great job for my 40D though. Nice chap.
