Mounting a fish-eyes lens shouldn't be a problem... There are various type of lenses that the G9 can mount with.

Here's mine with the tele-converter lens with Speedlite 380EX:

Cheers!

hi! nice gears you have there :)

but isn't it DC58C for tele? if i'm not mistaken, canon didn't release 58 mount fish-eye.. please cmiiw.. so the option is using some 3rd party lens such as raynox fe-180rx or cheaper opteka

well, having no idea about them yet, enlightment please :)

why sad? for me, my money was well spent! i'm really proud of my G9, loving it dearly

haha sad to be parted with my money.. and happy for having the G9 at the same time :sweatsm:

Hi hi to all...

Ok, firstly the TC-DC58C is indeed a Canon 2x tele-converter lens. I got it 2nd-hand from the Marketplace in CS here from a fellow CSer at $150.

Here's some photo to illustrate the power of the tele, with the first photo is w/o the tele and the second photo with tele... (take note of the center white building in the background)

As for Fish-lens, Canon do not have this type of lens for G9. However for alternatives like the Raynox brand, we can just rely on our local friend, Jim, if you want any accessories from him. Can arrange to meetup with him, usually Bedok central there, and see the items that you are interested in.

Here's the Raynox Wide-angle lens that I am interested but still currently saving for it...

And as for the Fish-lens, he also have it but I find it quite expensive to buy leh...

seems like Richo not much in the camera world.....depends but reviews r really quite bad:( G9 surely more promising and Nikon more on dslr cams...Canon's other SX100IS much cheaper but has that same feel the Nikon P60 offers. Lumix offers several models as solid and good might wanna try that out too.

:) sorry G9 fan, please do not flame me, basically i own a Nikon SLR + DSLR, a canon Ixus, a Ricoh GR10 and recently get a Ricoh GX100.....was indecisive of P5100, G9 and Gx100.....but finally get the GX100 due to i just need a secondary compact to my SLR, leave the accessories to SLR :) BUT G9 is really great camera but too bulking for my purpose.

To clarify, Ricoh is not really not much in camera world, just that they're into niche camera camera market :) by the way during analog time (okie, i'm old), my GR10 pic quality was always superb particular in landscape (24mm wide) even compare to my SLR. And GR1 is the legend in the 35mm world of compact then.

basically Ricoh is not try to make money from selling camera, i seriously thing they use the Printer/photocopier revenue to fund the camera market division......may be the founder is a rangefinder hobbyist ?

and btw, i got my Gx100 and almost 2/3 the price of G9 :) and it's really fun to play with, i feel like i'm back to old analog days.....

... That's weird... Did any of you guys ordered a Ricoh advertisement here?... :bsmilie:

Anyway, just to humour you and comment on Ricoh cameras, their cameras in terms of hardware specifications and innovativeness is commendable. However, their image processors are not very, broadly speaking, good. The image results are poor with lots of noise through most ranges of ISO. A review through DPR would yield you with the images examples by Ricoh cameras as disappointing.

Irregardless, this is a thread of Canon's G9 camera. Any "advertisement" of other cams, please take it else where...

Much appreciated.

:) point taken
actually shopping for a prosumer compact (G9) so search till this thread lor. and Happen to said someone comment about Ricoh in a G9 thread, so just to share some user experience.

as i said G9, P5100 and GX100 are top of my list, so all can achieve the same goal and depend on the user's photo style / budget.

in fact i just told my friend (a Nikon SLR user) to get a G9 even though i own a Ricoh because of his photo style and also he want (and have the budget) to expand.

and already ask him to join this forum and come to this thread once he got the G9.

Hi Gaofar,
noted, i'll contact you when i'm planning to buy those stuffs.. :) but now i'm saving to get a good flash.. eye-ing for 430ex  anyone knows where can i get a bargain? thanks

any luck in getting your flash? The 430ex sells off fast around here.

The information is probably in the thread somewhere, but does the g9 have a fisheye converter

g9 got fisheye lense? As in, those cheap adaptors? Or those SLR type ones and then mount on? If cheap adaptors type, I'm quite curious to find out more... cos I think buying a fisheye cheapo lens adaptor for the G9 is better than getting dedicated super expensive Fisheye lens for the DSLR and spending a bomb on something which is not often used (niche lens).

Not trying to bash Ricoh or anything, but I have major problem with the quality of Ricoh GR D 2 camera. See my posting in this thread:
http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=322620&page=11

I have made the switch to a G9 and I am a happier person now :)

This is a G9 thread so let's keep it as such. Original poster posting about ricoh (no offense), please do so in another thread or start another thread. It doesn't add to the value of this thread and definitely, if anyone wants to know about ricoh, would appreciate it in its own thread.

hi guys,

I'm keen in getting the G9, does anyone knows where I can get the best deal?

Hi all G9 user,

Actually I had bought my G9 on Dec 07, I seldom use it and still figuring how to set the setting.

I realise something, the noise level very high when capturing photos at night. anyone can help?

With same setting compare with my previous Sony H5, G9 shuttle speed and brightness is much more slower and darker.

Who can tell me why?

i need help for setting my G9.

noise is a relative term. can you post some pictures to show us what you mean by high noise.

hi peekarwe,

here are some photos from concert.
