G11 and S90 Arrival and Prices in SINGAPORE !!!!!

for S90, when doing movie capture, is it able to zoom and autofocus ?

er? i was quoted $680 for s90 this afternoon! thot it was too high so i walked off..;(

When I tried in Canonlink Vivo, it able to zoom while taking video. For auto focus, it should be...

I managed to have my exchanged for another one that did not have this obvious glow at the corner. This was done through my dealer who was nice enough to do the exchanged. He did mention that he is not 100% confident that Canon would acknowledge the "defect" and replace him with another. But hey, he is a great guy and kudos to him for helping me out!

Hi Dr Chai and ShiNn,

Just to double check with you guys, the defect you guys mentioned, is it happen when the camera
1. Just switch off (the LCD starts to become blank)
2. Happen after the camera switch off for a while, then continue until camera switch on, then disappear
3. Happen all the time, whether camera (LCD) is on or off

Hi,

it doesnt happen all the time. you can view it only when the LCD screen is black in colour or when u turn it on that time. you do have that problem?

A bit confuse here.... LCD is Black in colour, means when it is off? Or when it is on but we switch off the LCD display?

I haven't buy yet, just to know the problem so when checking, can confirm buy a non defect unit.. Thanks

the LCD is on. but when u use your hands to cover the lens the whole active LCD goes black. then u can see the white glowing light on the bottom right of your LCD screen.

Quoted 80x for G11 package with just a SD card without case.

Hi all.. this is my 1st post...

I was also having dilemma in choosing btw G11, S90 and LX3. I finally go for G11 because of it has underwater housing and i like the body griping feel, swivel LCD screen and resembled DSLR design. Although its rather bulky, but its fine for me.

I got mine in KL in 1/11/09 at RM1860 c/w G11, case (too tight and cannot fit with strap attached @@), screen protector, 4GB SDHC class 4 Sandisk, 8GB SDHC class 6 transcend and mini tripod.. It comes with 1+2 years (a total of 3 years) warranty by Canon Malaysia.

p/s: any1 knows where to get a pouch/case tat can fit even with it neck strap attached? or rather a hand strap for G11? thanks~
 

My only complaint so far is that I don't like having to swivel the camera back and forth every time I want to shoot. And no wise cracks about leaving it LCD open all the time pls.
 

With SITEX just around the corner, I wonder what are the freebies and is it worth to buy (during the show) when you buy S90 / G11. Hmm.... :think:
