In the US, pre-orders are expected to ship only in the first week of May. Why do we assume that our local distro will start shipping the K1 next month?

I think it is safe to say that we will also get our K1s sometime in early May? As it will only be officially launched in April, not shipped in April.

Orient Photo say it will available in April. It also accept preorder at s$2999 body only, with freebies SD card and a bag. Freebies to be confirmed again.
Not sure about other shops though.

It's a good price. Unless someone wants to bring in directly from the USA then, this price is the best.

china k-1 price is also around 2800 sgd, so consider singapore living, 2999 is no surprise , but better if it comes with grip for pre-order
Since it is retail price, take nikon retail price from IT show for reference,
D610 is 2359 SGD.
D750 is 2949 SGD.
D810 is 4888 SGD

of course, local dedicated camera shop is offering cheaper price for those nikon than retail price, but that is the price they put on label for those who dont know where to find price.
by that standard comparing to Nikon, K-1 is pretty good price to offer more than D750.

yes, however, for more than double of K-3 II retail price, i don't think any everyday pentaxian can take that bite at first launch, since launch price is like that, actually most shop sell original K-3 still at launch price to those who dont know the price.
for family stuff photo, it is not a rush to upgrade so fast, those who just want to try out full frame, those 2nd full frame is much better cheaper option. since we can't expect a new camera to be that cheap.

I don't know about you but I am seeing bad blotches of red in the images .......
yeah, I see too, just find there are too limited few good samples /when you find it, you see things like that. They really need completed firmware samples. such as Studio / outdoor/indoor portraits / colours of object from hard to transluscent
$2999 ... I am not jumping into it.
However it is until you use it then you will know the camera. but I love the GXR primes/ then not to underestimate the camera, as it still in early stage, with no real user yet.

Bro, D750 comes with a 24-120mm f4 kit lens you know .........
D750 with kit lens is 3749 SGD,
D750 body only is 2949 SGD.

of course, some shop may be cheaper, but that doesn't matter, as we compare retail price here.
Have you checked? In the shops you can get even lower than $2800 for D750 with the kit lens .
Anyway the recommended retail price for the K1 is US$ 1799 .....not S$2999.
