Actually, the pixel shift test photos Diglloyd demonstrated in his website look over-sharpened and some degree of artifacts to me.

I think he did say in his article that he pulled off the sample JPG from the official site and sharpened to what he though was good.

It was his way of accessing the potential of the pixel shift resolution with what's available rather than a full test.

They Interpolate the pixels (or shift and stack the consecutive image taken) to enhance/increase the resolution ....... your subject has to remain very still while the photo is taken ........

The new algo claims to be able to get rid of the movement artifacts from the 4 frames.
Of course, to be double safe, I think if one is going for this sort of high IQ, its best to also take one more frame of a non shifted image just in case, so that it can be blended in to remove artifacts if any.

I'm eager to see how all this works out if/when I get the camera.

White balance

The Pentax K-1's white balance system offers a wide range of options, including an interesting Multi Auto WB mode which aims to neutralize color casts from multiple different light sources in the same scene. As well as Automatic and Manual modes, the K-1 provides nine white balance presets (Daylight, Shade, Cloudy, Daylight Color Fluorescent, Daylight White Fluorescent, Cool White Fluorescent, Warm White Fluorescent, Tungsten, and Color Temperature Enhancement). This last option is used to retain and enhance the lighting tone - for example, to enhance a sunset.
