Fujifilm X100S

Holy crap! It's even better than the previous promo! Fre tripod and drybox! I bought the X100s 1 day too early!

I was hoping for some price lowering, aiyah they gave more gifts instead..chey

hi guys

qn: I hve set my iso auto range fr 200-3200, each time I went into Q and change fr Basic to Custom and back to Basic. the iso limit always change to 200-800

did I buy a lemon?

or is it normal?

No it's not a lemon, it's juicy mandarin orange :)

sometimes i also accidentally switch it to Custom setting. No choice have to preset the C1, C2 and C3

lol.. thanks for confirming it is not a lemon but a mandarin orange..

Bros, there will be an auto show "Tokyo auto salon" coming up this weekend. Was thinking of bringing my x100s to shoot, do you think it's wide enough to shoot the cars there based on your experience??

Too wide to shoot babes. With the crowd, may not be wide enough to shoot the cars.

found out that the setting done to Custom took over as "std" when I switch fr custom back to Basic in Q menu
Funny programming IMHO

Yeah I thought I had a faulty set. At least now I know mine is normal. Hope there is a firmware to resolve this quirky programming.

Been thinking if I should sell my Nikon 24-70mm f2.8 and just get an x100s and a 50mm 1.8g instead.

What do you guys think? Is it worth it?

X100s is a fixed lens camera.. so what is the 50mm f1.8 for?

For my D7k. I don't want to sell my DSLR just yet. So I'm thinking of selling my 24-70mm f2.8G and buy a 50mm f1.8G instead.

Plus buy an x100s for my 24mm replacement.

It's really up to you. Nobody knows your needs or preferences. If you don't need zoom, then why not.

IMO, if you don't mind the weight of dslr and your shooting style require fast AF then i would not recommend you to get x100s.

If you want compact/lighter cam with decent IQ and used to shoot with prime 35mm equivalent focal length then you can consider x100s

The next promo is always better than the current one. No need to rush, prices always go down anyway.

Or like an USB port or a VF. WiFi is actually pretty useful and doesn't cost much.

Interesting. It makes sense indeed. The 24-70mm f2.8 is heavy, you go out with your DSLR + 50mm 1.8g and a X100s, the total weight reduces and you have more flexibility.

Yup, the X100S has a much wider zoom range than the 24-70/2.8, you should gain a lot of flexibility and you loose about 300g probably. Pretty cool... ;)
Even smarter would be to simply buy a Nikon 35/2 instead of the other two options. It will be even lighter and cheaper.
