Thanks for your feedback!
Here's my own personal feedback:
I owned OMD before but have sold it away to finance purchase of this x100s.
This is also not a scientific comparison but having compared the pics taken with both cams i would say x100s IQ beat OMD hands down especially for iso 800 and above. DR also much better..
I also have 5dmk3. And i can say X100s IQ is comparable with 5d3 in terms of noise control (up to iso 6400 - so far based on my hands on in the past few days) and seems that x100s has more details. I like the noise grain of x100s.. it just looks more pleasing.
Please note that this is all based on jpeg files sooc.
One thing i realize is that if i show the pics to my wife from the camera lcd, my wife feels that OMD looks better or at least no improvement from the OMD but once i transferred it to the computer and zoom it to 100% we can see the difference. Very obvious!! Maybe it's all due to the lcd resolution so we cannot really tell the difference.
Auto WB i prefer on X100s as well and it looks more accurate compare to OMD which is more yellowish.
AF speed i cannot tell probably OMD win slightly faster. Not really a big difference to me/my shooting style since both cams i would say not on par to mid/high-end DSLR in terms of AF tracking which is more important than just snappy AF.
Also one thing i don't like from OMD (this is the main reason i change system) is the shutter delay. The moment i press the shutter and the actual image taken is different. I miss lots of moment of my kids due to this.. strangely very seldom people notice this issue on the net (never read comments on this from any reviewers).. maybe it's down to individual skills to capture the moment
Size wise, yes X100s slightly bigger and thicker but if you attach OMD with the lens, i actually prefer the overall size of x100s. Unless you always use pancake lens on OMD. To me, the size of x100s just nice for my hand to hold as well.
Just curious..and i know it is out of topic..which shops provide 1 to 1 exchange within 7 days other than TK and Click! ?

i thought all the authorized dealer of Fuji will provide 1 to 1 exchange within 7 days?
Jules77, glad to hear you got your problem sorted out eventually. Will take note of your experience at SLRR, best to let our money do the talking when it comes to such shops. There are way too many such shops in Singapore. Even if they later change their tact (prob after realising that the customer has been complaining online) its too little too late. Afterall there are other better shops even though they might cost a little more.
Update: for those who read abt my experiece of getting a lemon unit at slrr on friday and Initially being refused a direct exchange, i just collected a new unit from them after fuji rep checked and confirmed it was manufacturer fault.
While waiting i read quite a few similar cases that happened to the original x100. Hope the sticky aperture blade problems have been sorted out ...
Any thxs all who wished me well![]()
Totally agree with your observation. I have omd & epl5 and few good lens. I did not get x100.prevuously as the slow focusing was a big turned off. Like you I will usually zoom in to scrutinize the pixel and realised pixel on apsc is much better although m4/3 is usable. apart from that X100s auto white balance, auto ISO are much more accurate and not much post processing is required.
Though I dun have the OMD, I think my X100's output is almost on par with my 5D2. Don't really need to do much post processing on my photos and the OOC JPEGs files are very nice. Absolutely love the results coming from that nifty little camera! For this X100S, I believe the results will be like what Bro guseliz mentioned, almost on par with his 5D3.
Anyway, some poison:

Different. X100s uses d newer x trans sensor tat has both phase detection n contrast detection AF. Tatz y it allows d focus peaking n split image MF assist.
