Fujifilm X-Pro1

The cam and 35mm lens combo is not small, I wonder what is their weight. Anyone knows?

what counts is the price RRP vs the camera performance. So, wait till reviews from other websites/forums, then consider
whether the camera is worth buying or otherwise. As it is now, no point comparing with other comparable cameras, as it
is not likely to give a conclusive decision.

I'm not worry about the weight, but US$2300.. Wah!

If stock not readily available I think will cost more in the beginning leh...

Ya, unless it can pawned or match the big boys in terms of IQ and AF... else..... buy the cam at this price is kena self pawned....:sweat:

It's cheap really :)

Affordability is relative. To some, buying a compact P&S already cost them an arm and leg.

But its a trend that mirrorless cameras are being priced higher than DSLR nowadays.

let's see if the pics it produces are worth the price of the body.

Looking at images that are produced by the X100 and X10, I have high hopes for the X-Pro 1.

new sensor is intriguing - can it really out best the 5dmk2?
does it affect the raw file - is it new and can the image processors manage it now?

Although I am a Nikon and Fujifilm x100 user, I would really hope the sensor from Fujifilm can out best the D800 sensor to show Nikon that huge sensor size is not really necessary to produce outstanding image quality out of the camera. I am not keen to take care of 75MB NEF files if the direction of Full Frame sensors is towards that. I am also not printing posters every other day too so I do want something that is practical. 75MB sized NEF files is not practical for semi-pro use too. Can say what market is D800 for?

M9 not too big for a full frame camera ^_^

Especially if you consider it's age. :-o Shouldn't be hard to make it even smaller for one of the bigger camera makers at a much lower price. Pentax could release a K-02 with full-frame sensor, there are still a few full-frame lenses for K-mount in production. :-P

Waiting patiently for them to release the price and at the same time I'm also reading all the thoughts that everyone here is sharing ;)

I wonder whether this is worth the money over the NEX-7

I think you are missing the point. The D800 simply has a larger version of the D7000/NEX5 sensor. People are getting all the shivers from the sensor MP numbers and forgetting the facts.

You might have a small cc car that can outrun a big engine car. But in the end, nothing replaces displacement in car engines just like nothing replaces sensor size in cameras.

There will always be a market for "My "thing" is bigger than yours" :D :D
In all practicality and even for most printing most of the APS-C and/or current FF sensor o/p is already enough.

Until the day the TV or monitor does 4xxx by 3xxx then maybe we need more.

FF sensor advantages shallow depth of field at any given focal length. Some cropping wastage is acceptable. Hopefully the fuji film pro x1 lenses will deliver on the bokeh front. It does look big for an aps-c cam but I'm still gonna get one to try. Pity they dont have a chrome version (maybe saving that for a limited edition thing kekeke)

is it me or what, but i hate the design, it's ugly! the slope and the bump in front of the camera to have extra grip yaiks! they should have stick to the x100/x10 design. the design and the IQ are the reasons why the fujix100/x10 are so successful. you take away the design, so the IQ is the only thing left to like. if they wanted to put extra bump there for the grip they should have taken que from olympus omd, it's not too loud and it's like part of the camera design unlike the xpro1 that is out of place, or just been added in the last minute arrrgh!
