i certainly hope i strike 4d or toto before it launches.

Anyone done any comparison btw IQ from D200 and S3 or S5 pro?
And can Fuji's superCCD compare to those of the Canon? My pic always need alot of post processing, unlike friends who uses Canon.:sticktong
If the IQ is better than Nikon's, i will save up for S5 man!!!;p I guess 3fps is no big issue to me...

sample..look down

Hi Witness...

Thanks for sharing, your pic are very beautiful and artistic and i enjoyed it.
Some are taken with D70 right??? anyway, i just sold my and looking for a new cam... so D200 Vs S5pro!?!:dunno:

Actually, i see it more of a S5Pro vs Canon 5D. An APS challenge to the FF 5D.
Wide dynamic range color should be at least comparable and if noise is on par, then S5 becomes viable. 5D's advantage will be reduced to only FF view and thinner DOF which to some , isn't an issue at all.

I doubt it will be out b4 GST kicks in :)

There are a few people who own the S2 Pro or S3 Pro cameras and can produce beautiful pictures from them. Witness is one of them.

As for comparing, there really isn't a point. The Fujifilm dSLRs stand in a class of their own. Unless you are going to spend brain cells crying over the technical specs of the body, it will be far more productive to compare the output capabilities of each. That said, only a handful of people who've used the different systems will be able to answer that. And even then, it'd be a never-ending argument.

If you are an ordinary shoot-nice-pictures-to-keep non-professional, pick whatever suits your budget and your habits. I won't recommend the Fujis even though I'm a Fuji user. The cameras take a lot of getting used to. And a fact is - there are quite a few S3 Pro users around who'd embarrass the technology (hehe... I'm sure one of them's reading and will MSN me to complain soon...) within.

As for the full-frame argument, I'm sure there was an early prototype S3 Pro that was built as a full frame, so that kind of stuff isn't far from reality. The issues are more likely to centre around light fall with the lenses rather than with the sensor size, Fujifilm has had full frame sensors since a long time ago.

* sorry, major typo error *

S5 retail price's USD1999... (from DCRESOURCE.com)

so ex ah....

sure slower abit, due to using FUJI SCCD and need times(fuji color things) vs the normal D200 CCD

start selling in JP. 260000Yen.

about $3.4k

  oh my god... hopefully it'll be cheaper when it launches in singapore.. really wanna see how good it is.. esp when compared to its predecessor, the S3 Pro

about $3.4k
I presume it is purposely priced somewhere between a semi-pro model (eg D200) and a pro model (eg D2X), to have a differentiate market.

well 3.4 k aint tt bad..its roughly the price of the s3 when it was first released...the thing tt waits to be seen is if it is a huge jump from the s3pro....

huh..really..i dun see it anywhere on the website?
