What, in your opinion, makes the S2pro the only Fuji DSLR worth buying and the S3pro a disaster?

S2 is the only fuji dslr worth buying. the S3 was and is a disaster - you can't sell it off now for $1500. S5 is just borrowing nikon's technology nothing to sing about. wait till they announce the price you better give up on fuji. by feb 07 D300 will be out.

well if they sell it at S$1,000 I will consider.

wow...in that case my 10d is a disaster too...i doubt it can fetch more than $1k with grip :sweat:

so far that has not happend even to the s3pro. the body that they based on was never surpassed in terms of handling and speed.

i'll get an S5 becos it is 6mp which is adequate for me and oso becos it is only 6mp, i bet i can handhold it at 1/8s on my 17-35 with no problem unlike the D200! :sweat:

I wonder becasue Fuji modelled it against D200 body will we be able to use the CLS Flash and the accessories like SU-800?

But well, seems like it's a fantastic camera. Just don't understand why is there such a big hoo-ha over the 6MP resolution in the dpreview forum. I think 6MP is good enough for me and I hate to deal with huge file sizes. I think the extended DR will be fantastic, really can't wait to see some pics from the camera.

they mentioned about 11point AF and a faster AF system, which i suspect is directly similar to the D200 AF system.

so it means, this camera is going to be similarly as fast as a D200, on top of the great colors fuji gives.

Yeah, it's actually using the Nikon CAM-1000 focussing module, same as the D200. It's pretty much the same as the D200 just slower continuous shooting speed, no CLS and a SuperCCD SR Pro sensor from what I read from dpreview. :thumbsup:

I am using a S2 Pro. And in fact I like it so much that my back up D70 does not get much use.

The day I will sell the D70 it will be a almost new old stock.:bsmilie:

I never wanted uprgrade to the S3 because I always thought it was not worth the big jump in $ compared to the S2.

I am a bit disapointed by the S5 specs. If they keep the same price policy, the S5 has to be very fast to operate to become interersting otherwise, it will be a disaster.

At the first look, I am afraid they will price it too high. In any case the S2/S3 PRo will be too close and the rest of the market too far ahead for them to come up with some big bucks price expectation.

but I thought now s3pro bery cheap? especially second hand ones... s3pro when it was first launched was like $3.5k.... then dropped to $3k... then dropped to $2.5k when I bought. Now how much? $2k?
