I handheld to take those photos.
Will using a tripod make any difference? Sorry, i still amateur.

cheers

me is not too sure too as i am also a newbie. of course, tripod provides the most stable support u can get, but since S100FS got image stabilizer, under normal situations, that shld be more than enough to prevent any blurriness.

y i ask if u r using a tripod is becos i saw some really serious flower taking pros would place a tripod in front of the flowers and then take close-up macro shots.

I see. With the image stabilizer on, i find it easier to take pictures without tripod.
But since i was only trying out the cam at the void deck, i didn't bring the tripod down, a bit too troublesome for me. Will bring if i am going down somewhere further though.

This is shot @ full 7FPS. Looks ok to me. The AF was pretty good. Alas the battery couldn't last me.

went with a friend who wanted into photography today, he fell in love with this one, and felt that he didn't have the commitment to learn how to do proper dslr maintenance

$sgd865 after gst with 2gb sandisk normal sd card @ alan photo funan, cash terms

was pretty impressed with the iso performance considering it is after all, a compact camera, and using 11 megapixels

handling is really very dslr like, and the weight is quite comforting, quite a joy to use, although a bit different from k100d

i got mine @ 950...now i know where the money for went too... some "freebies" hur!
haha

battery life is quite bad. a full charge lasts me only one day before the red battery alert appears.

how many shots is that, roughly?

not sure if the battery comes with full charge, but we went ecp where it was easier to teach some of the basics.. and it ran flat pretty quickly, i must say.

My battery didn't last me very long before the red alert sign comes on. But i guess the battery takes a few more use and charges to get to its full capacity.

Any idea where we can get extra batt?

cheers

yes, local, cathay quoted me $890 no stock, some random camera shop in funan quoted $890 too. :dunno: also, i got him to reduce to price due to a pile of accessories being bought along with the cam itself. not sure if you want to buy can get that price. :)

but then i have been there quite a lot, and i was quite patient and polite. :) i must say that the funan alan photo is a lot better than the sim lim alan photo.. looks like there's less and less need to go back to sim lim.

Battery finishes after i took about 250 shots with EVF set to off, and IS mode set to continuous. Flash is on for about 200 shots.

ah, that isn't too bad then, evf will save a lot of battery

and i don't think there will be much use of flash, maybe extended to 300-400 shots then :)

but it's still not too impressive for a li-on battery

What acccesories did you get? I intend to get a Tripod(SLIK Sprint pro 3 way), a shutter release cable and maybe an external flash.

Does anyone know if ANY ordinary shutter release cable can be used on the S100FS or shld i use the RR-80? How about the external flash unit? which compatible flash unit can be used on the S100FS? Thanks!

Joe, a friend of my buddy, tested out his newly-acquired Finepix 100FS against his older Sony Cybershot R1 (using Carl Zeiss lens). Here are the results.

Went to Jn 3:16 (Funan) to inquire on the batt. The boss (i think) Samuel told me will be in one week later.

Pardon my losing track of the shops ard, what happened to EastGear @ Peninsula Plaza? The info counter told me they closed down?

The R1 pic seem sharper. I have the R1 too and my dad the 100. Can you post a 100% crop on the poster area? I will fall off my chair if Mas can be seen ... ke ke ke :bsmilie:

it is very insulting subsitute of salamat with a photo of a dog. do u know what you are doing? No doubt he is a fugitive but at least acknowledge that he is a muslim and a fellow human being

No lah.... You see wrongly! After using my 'super-duper, out-of-this-world' pixel magnifier (similar to those used by FBI and CIA), here is what it really is. ;)

By the way, I agree that the R1 is sharper than the 100FS.
