btw, for the 1st pic, i think it's better if you can take it in its natural colour rather than sepia.. cos the sky for today is very very nice.. so it could be a good shot if it's in its natural colour.

I don't think S8000fd got sepia in the f menu..

gotten it for sgd14... yah..i must agree that it's ex.. but sunday was getting some batts for my trip also..cos i was using the normal GP alkaline batt, it's drained off pretty fast..so did some calculation, decided to get the engergizer one..so it's okie to use the lithium batts on our cam, right? wouldnt spoil it right?

anyway, i have just gotten myself the energizer rechargeable batt and charger, where the charger can be used for AAA, AA and 9V batts, so quite okie.. saw GP one, but then can only use it for AAs, so decided to get energizer... quite compact though.

total damage is SGD43.65 plus 4 rechargeable batts.

on the panning shots, I use shutter aperture btw a speed of 1/40 - 1/60 depending on the subjects' speed at ECP, and also u need to focus from far as it approaches while estimating the "size" to capture the subject as it approaches.. whether to zoom or not cos the "size" of it from far compared to when it speeds past near u is totally diff... for example in my panning pics, the subjects are either taken too small to fill up the frame or zoomed too closely. I think a nice panning picture should take up abt 2/3 of the pic frame in the center.

ask u guys, if I charge my rechargable batts b4 its drained up, will it shorten the batt life? I heard some rechargables will discharge the unwanted voltage b4 starting to charge.. :dunno:

That's a good price for 2500 plus charger. But since I already have GP already so just keep using it. If I have time I might pop by NTUC again to get another set of 2700s.

Yup, to a certain extend battery memory will affect. But there is a discharge function in the camera. I use it once in a while.

Seems everyone sleep already. Here's a dreamy macro shot I took just now. Sweet dreams, guys!

Edit: On second thought, not too dreamy, flash too bright.

how long it took to fully discharge? i tried it once, took over
an hr & it was still discharging... but prob my battery still had plenty life.

hey parampita, sorry cant make it for ur outing.... working tonight n tm night shift.

Just knocked off from work, stopped my car at the road side and took some pics. All are taken at F/1.8, 1/15s, except the last one at 1/20s. All handheld, hence abit camera shake.

This thread was originally opened by the TS (who has since MIA) about buying S8100 but now become our pic sharing thread. I think I will open a new thread, probably in the newbies section, after my next shoot and we can share our pics there.

Unless one of you have a shoot before me and start a thread, I will join in there too.

Anyway, here are the pics.
