Yah, I would like to see it's performance at iso 800, 1600 and 3200. Cos from photos from other site shows something like banding at high ISO setting, would like to confirm if it is still present in retail sets.

will try my best to...just for comparison...personally i won't want to go 800 and beyond.

sit tight yea?:)

hi guys,

although the f50d is 12 mega pixel,r we still able to choose the number of pixels we want for our pics?such as switching to 7 or 8mega pixel instead...

yes you can choose 12MP fine, 12MP normal, 3:2(what's this?), 6MP, 3MP, 2MP, 0.3MP.

and just a pre-empt, shooting at 6MP does not mean you will have a F31 fd.

messed up the test shots for the different ISOs, will reshoot if i can find the time.

meanwhile...just a random shot from where i was perched.

Night shot with long exposure...but somehow i the find details not very sharp. Night mode doesn't allow aperture change.

generally quite pleased with iso100 performance at full size. will see if i will be able to take up to iso400 with hopefully good results.

tried iso800 full size, not impressed.

let me guess, Hall 7 ;)

Any ISO 1600 pics .........

At Istana Park, shot from Giraffe...really hopes it helps people with issues about the higher ISOs.

Just couldn't resist long exposure! Maybe I should've taken a ISO 400 instead.

Why is the ISO6400 pic bigger than the ISO3200, and ISO3200 bigger than the ISO1600/800? U resized the ISO1600/800 pics?

Hard to compare the noise when the ISO1600/800 pics are resized to be smaller.

seems fine at ISO800.

i mean its jus a PnS. i've seen WORSE results from Nikon n Canon. the rest of the brands, dun even haf to mention.

FujiFilm's PnS has gotta be the best there is that is available to consumers.

i'll be deleting Unnecessary comments as this thread's purpose is to showcase photos of F50fd and its capability or lackof.

if u're keen to discuss its many many advantages and such, pls feel free to post here or here.

thanks folks!!!

i didn't resize...the camera shoots iso800 at 12MP, iso3200 at 6MP and iso6400 at 3MP. When i uploaded to photobucket, i think it automatically trimmed the 4+ MB 800 picture, hence the smallest picture. i just uploaded whatever i could straight from the camera.

anyone knows where i can get full picture hosting?

how abt a small section of a 100% crop of a certain area? ya, that will do the trick i think.

would love to see more iso800 n up fotos.

haha yea i guess that would seem to be the only way to compare...but what kind of areas should i choose? dark/bright areas? high/low contrast areas?

initially i thought people wanted to see if banding was present and to my newbie eyes so far, i don't see anything, only the increased noise levels.

so far not many CSers bought the camera, can't wait to see the camera in the hands of more skilful people.

The noise is only much more noticable on the ISO at the dark areas. The lighted areas seems to be alright.

Hi All,

I found this is a great cam with reasonable price :D ...
Still exploring the camera keke...

Really hope to see some photo from skilful ppl :sweatsm:

maybe a mixture of some dark.. some light areas. and a mixture of low/high contrast!

if u're free la!
haha

aiya, 'banding' requires certain condition. otherwise it won't b visible.

i say, go out and take more fotos and enjoy ur camera! dun let such thing(unnecessary) worry u and lessen ur enjoyment. :)
