Massive earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Feel sad for them. And it looks like X100 shipments might be postponed yet again.

You mean the Fuji factory has been destroyed in the earthquake? So sad ! :(

nope i doubt it , but its very possible that japan will shut down its ports on the eastern sides.. the destruction is VERY severe

the image look "over-sharpen" to me.

ok cool, let's try this again, here's another with the with the same output settings, i saved it wrongly, because the silkypix raw developer apparently has options for a further additional unsharp masking when you save to jpeg, after the raw has undergone sharpening. pixel peep to all your glory, as far as i am concerned, its pretty good.

anyway, you need to over sharpen before you print big.

thanks for sharing your sample photos. just wondering if you, or anyone else out there, have any high contrast bright backlit photos (to check out the CA/purple fringing)?
and also how does it handle barrel distortion?

i'm concern abt the performance of the lens since it's a fixed lens. thanks!

Some sample pictures I took. Very amateurish. Sorry. Colour density set to high since I find mid slightly dull. No editing done.

nope. Just use myfinepix studio to import the pictures to my computer and upload to flickr straight away.

Definitely pretty good for something straight out of camera!

Hi,

Just back from night photography with my X100 , it has tremendous ISO Engine inside .

Here I shared X100 ISO Speed Comparability, please find sample pictures below :

Nice comparison! At this resolution, I dont see any noise even at iso6400. haha

Actually you can see it pretty clearly...the black area just next to word Giorgio...that said, it is still quite good despite the high ISO.

Sorry- to clarify. Shutter/ af speed fast (imho) except when switching to/ from macro. The "speed" I am referring to is almost everything is manual, there is no "A" mode.

Actually there is an A mode...it is called P mode...close enough. Just turn the aperture to A and Shutter to A and you will have a P mode camera (fully auto means ISO Auto too). But then again...buy this camera to set everything on Auto?

Actually there is: aperture ring to A and Shutter dial to A

I think what you meant was

To get to Aperture priority mode, set shutter to A, then decide what aperture you want to use it at.
If you want to shoot at Program, set Shutter and Aperture to A.
For Shutter priority, set aperture to A, and decide what shutter speed you want to shoot at

I not sure if anyone got confused with the direction of the shutter and aperture dial. This is because my film RF points in the other direction for both aperture and shutter dial. Thus when I saw the that it was underexposed in the camera, I turned the way that I was used to, then I got more under exposed photos. Guess it was not easy for Fuji to decide on which direction. Just like the car's signal lights which is on the right for Japanese cars and on the left for European cars.

I think it is just a matter of getting used to it.

I hope Fujiflim will release new filmware in the near future that will give user more customizability options such as direction to increase/decrease ISO via command dial. Presently, the default option i.e. shifting left to increase ISO seems to be rather weird and unconventional to me. :(

The flash and raw button could also double up as a fn2 button to allow for more flexibility in customization. Thats something I found lacking in this camera after being pampered by all these functions from my Ricoh GRD3.

Just press fn button and then press up and down...that is much more intuitive.

Thank you.

Anyone got picture to share for high ISO?

tried it today at ISO1600 - quite noisy

think i need to test it more

Here are my humble shots. Will be doing trying it out during my group outing with the Pasir Ris Elias CC Group and the Facebook SPIN group. All handheld except for the motion panaromic shot.
