Fuji X100

I hope Fujiflim will release new filmware in the near future that will give user more customizability options such as direction to increase/decrease ISO via command dial. Presently, the default option i.e. shifting left to increase ISO seems to be rather weird and unconventional to me. :(

The flash and raw button could also double up as a fn2 button to allow for more flexibility in customization. Thats something I found lacking in this camera after being pampered by all these functions from my Ricoh GRD3.

I just want to share the little experience I have had with X100 so that new owners or to be owners could be aware of.
You may not like this camera for the first few hours. But once you understand how it functions, I am sure you will not leave home without it.

I got very frustrated when using it first time in my recent Cambodia trip especially under pressure to deliver. So, the first day is almost a nightmare. This camera is not easy to tame man! You will need to get use to switching from EVF to OVF and overcoming the challenge of a fix lens. The cam is highly configurable and you can customize the display to suit you.
There is hell lots of feature in this little beast....but like I said..tame it first!

I havent had the chance to buy one yet. Seeing many feedbacks from other buyers, why dont have this, why this slow, etc etc, think everyone should just spend time to understand and use it.

Then again, there is always BNS if you decided if its just not for u... many ppl will be waiting :bsmilie:

The menu quite confusing...may need some time getting use to....still trying to figure out how to zoom/enlarge in on subject for manual focusing....

Hey , do put additional button on the top of shutter release ? is it your DIY or came from the package ? Looks nice :-)

I understand that this is really a Beautiful camera:heart:
Everyone is posting the photos of the camera.

But can everybody share more photos taken by the camera?

Gotta give us some time considering most of us only got it yesterday :)

I use the shutter release button which was attach to my Film M...but the red button immediately sex up the appeal of the x100...got it from Chiff Camera at $25. After that can twist the soft release button to turn on/off the camera too lol

Cant agree more. Chiif better stock up those soft release buttons quickly. I guess they will be flying off the selves once the whole X100 stock hits the market.

overall its quite a nifty package which i wish it can be in my bag everyday...patiently waiting for the casing....picture quality is pretty good...overall operation reaction i would say is acceptable....only marco mode is quite "er-oh-er-oh" slow....lol

Hi, I am just a beginner of RF user, did tried x100 for about 15min. IMHO, this is a great camera to tag along RF if you wish to take quick snaps...auto focus was great, soft bokeh at F2 too...but the Manual Focus isnt so easy as I thought (will be more like M4/3 as you need to magnify on EVF to focus), have to figure out myself instead of asking the salesperson. Average about 15 second to take in MF pic, difficult to use focusing tab, seems it wasnt meant to be MF, but dont think many ppl care :)

Weight indeed doesnt really gel with the camera's look, i am sure its a gem for someone who doesnt like to carry heavy gears especially on their neck...and for ladies. Imaging carrying M8+490gm lens...was really painful for me.

Sorry- to clarify. Shutter/ af speed fast (imho) except when switching to/ from macro. The "speed" I am referring to is almost everything is manual, there is no "A" mode.

Actually there is: aperture ring to A and Shutter dial to A

Can it do video?

Really sexy camera, enjoy the new beauty guys. I can only wait until I start working.. sigh. Anyway just a heads up for those of you, follow http://twitter.com/#!/fujiguys as they often give out tips on how to handle the X100, amongst other models.

E.g. "guys tip of the week, X100 in MF, use AEL/AFL to quickly focus, press cmd lever to zoom in on AF area, Use the MF ring to fine tune."

I know that, that is the Program mode. You can even do Auto ISO. However there is no "Auto" mode, where everything is done for you.
