Fuji X100

Hey guys, I called up a few shops like CP, SLR Revo, OP, Manly and AP. They are all selling at the retail price of $1699. Does anyone know where can I find it at street prices (I assume its $1.4k to $1.6k?)

Worse is SLR Revo, when I called yest and asked if I place my order now, roughly when can I expect a set. Then the salesguy said rudely and impatiently that he doesnt know, maybe 6 months to 1 yr later. At least the other shops were more polite and told me most likely 2 weeks later is the next shipment.

If no shops are selling at street prices, i might as well just get it from HN since its nearer to my house and they give more freebies.

My experience with SLR Revo is nice. I did place my name on the waiting list, but guess the queue number is about 20++ And now stock for the Fuji X100 is so limited everywhere, thus I just keep my finger crossed. Because almost all dealer have no idea how many sets will they be issued from Fuji Singapore. So it is very normal for them to reject you even if u insist to placed order from them, but they never told me that the waiting time is 6 months to 1 year.... One thing that I like this store is they don't cut queue even u have ready cash to buy with the goods right in front of you, cos they will contact those that is on the waiting list, just to be fair to all those that is waiting anxiously for their turn. Hope that you are able to get yours soon....Cheers^_^

This afternoon I saw a few sets at TK Foto. And at Peninsula the corner shop facing Funan also has a set for sale. I guess stocks are pouring in, the wait will be a lot less painful from now on. However, anyone knows where to buy the hood?

Yes Got mine from Cathay same price, case not in stock yet. I doubt any shop will sell any cheaper than this as demand exceeds supply.

I have used the fuji now for 3 to 4 weeks and have posted some shots on flickr, mainly for portrait work and mainly wide open.

Dislikes: Focus/exposure lock is not WYSIWIG
Macro focussing is SLOW and noisy and misses often.
Battery life is poor.
Focussing can be unreliable and misses even on contrasty subjects.

Likes: viewfinder, SILENT, High ISO, Quality of files, colors, AWB, Flash control, lightweight, DOF control, f2 lens.

Overall, hope fuji makes fixes to above, there are too many things to like versus dislikes so its a keeper.

It is definitely NOT the LC-X100.

and quoted that LC-X100 costs S$168 w GST.
