Yes, it is definitely faster than normal class 2. I'm using it with Raw+JPEG. But for the continuous mode, the speed really cant tell on Raw+JPEG. For AFS mode, 100% YES.

I got the black version as it is more stealth. So far like it to the max. It is my carry everywhere cam now. If thing goes well, I might switch to their interchangeable system in a year time ditching my Canon system:)

Wahh this thread is so poisonous. Read it for interest and I feel like getting one already :P

Get one!! I love my X100 much more than my D7000! So much lighter and with low-light performance that is at least as good (and IMO is better). The sharpness and color rendering will blow you away. Just don't use a UV filter, not even for protection. Buy the hood and a lens cap instead (the regular cap doesn't fit over the hood). IMO Fujinon lenses (or any good lens for that matter) shouldn't be adulterated with a UV filter.

The OVF is damn nifty too. I do streets and never found the "slow" AF to be much of a problem. Sometimes just needs a bit more anticipation, and in fact for the most part it doesn't cause much of a problem.

I only wish though that the focal length was closer to 50mm instead of 35mm, so that I can anticipate the final image much better.

Haha! I see. Can't decided between this or the xpro 1

I'm actually just gonna use it as a travel camera as to fill the "normal" range gap that I will have when I sell my 17-50

Anyone here knows the price range now?

Not sure of the current price of the limited black set, but the silver set with free black leather case is around $1390 at Funan 2-3 weeks ago.

I thought of getting the X-Pro1 but decided that it's too expensive for a crop-sensor body. The lenses are pretty expensive too. While the $1k+ 35mm f/1.4 is considerably cheaper than the Nikkor 35mm f/1.4, $1k+ is still too expensive for me. :p I'd prefer if they had a cheaper range of lenses.

Digitalrev's review of the X-Pro1 lenses wasn't great as well.

True. Even if get the xpro 1 I'll get the 35mm lens only anyway. Ok x100 here I come!!! Anyway the dof for f1.4 and f2 has not much diff right?

Not that much, IMO. Note that the x100 has a 23mm lens, equiv to 35mm.

None of the current 3 lenses cost more than a thousand.

My bad then. But they do cost close to a thousand each, which is still expensive. The Nikon 35mm f/1.8 costs $350, and there isn't that much difference in terms of dof between 1.4 and 1.8.

why not compare to nikon 35mm 1.4 which is about $2k or thereabouts?

i think the 35mm and 60mm from fuji are not too expensive, maybe competitively priced/similar to other fast lenses from other mirrorless systems... affordability is subjective though, some people think $700-850 for a fast lens is expensive while others don't even balk at paying for twice, thrice or a couple of times more for similar performance

But then again it's the body that's expensive. Haha. 2k+ for crop sensor really is alot. Without The body why would we want the lens correct?

i'm surprised with digitalrev's review of the lenses, since most other reviews i've read of the 35mm and 60mm rate them optically excellent samples...
