i feel that the FujiFilm X10 is a very capable compact camera.

i just feel that the RAW converter shipped with the camera is.. let's just say that there are many areas for it to be improved upon.

cheers!

*i bought my X10 from SLR Revo for S$802 with a 16gb SD class 10 card and the leather casing.*

use lightroom 3.6... better tool to post process RAW file from X10, thats how i feel. infact...photoshop 5 can actually open RAW file from x10, if i rem correctly. :)

Remember the poor...

No offence meant, but he does not look poor to me.....

He was performing in near freezing temperatures at night along the road.
If he wasn't poor, why bother to go to all that trouble and freeze your butt off along the roadside just for a couple of RMB?

I can see the sensor blooming effect. Great pics though. Hope FujiFilm would eradicate this problem for the next batch.

1 question for x10 users.

Can the ISO be adjusted in pro-low light mode?

yup, the bloooooooooomz effect. that is one big problem. yet to update the firmware though...

what is 'pro-low light mode'?

cheers.

Just got my X10 2 days ago, wanted to try off camera flash/softbox on this "Good Looking" PNS. IMO, it work well and result is Good :)

Shot compare to 5DMKII -

1. 5DMKII, F8, ISO200, 1/160, 32mm

2. X10, F8, ISO200, 1/160, 30+mm

5D2 still retains much details definitely. Nevertheless its a good fight for the X10 considering the size of the sensor.

i bought the X10 to complement my 5D2 because its the only PnS which allows me to shoot at 112mm @ f2.8 and has manual zoom.

Sure, sure..5D2 still my main cam for portrait and 1D2 for event/sport. But really like the X10 for the "pretty or handsome" design, IQ and fast zoom F2-2.8 (as a PNS), and the bonus of trigger off cam flash with no syn limit :) (with non high syn trgger)

He may be poor. But the expression you capture seems he is contented n enjoy what he is doing. Some may be rich but is unhappy: -)

Overall, the x10 did well. Almost complete loss of detail of the headgear due to sensor blooming though.

Not sure is it cause by sensor blooming :) feel like "very slight" over expose (with the same setting) and lost of detail due to sensor size but overall I like this PNS. My only complains is w/o AF confirmation in viewfinder, make it difficult for portrait shoot under bright daylight.

dun think that is sensor blooming.

more likely the sensor is incapable of capturing and rendering the finer details.

share some new takes of the X10 in studio with strobes.

all at shot at 1/1000s, f2.8, 112mm, ISO100.

not sure if it is WOLS, the smallest aperture on X10 is f11.

the fastest sync speed i can attain with X10 is around 1/1200s.

yet to fully explore and push it to the limits due to lack of time.

Lots of fantastic shots. Keep them rolling! Particularly enjoyed the shots from Zhang Hui Mei's concert!

Question about the off the camera triggers, what do you guys use?

1 shot to share.

i'm using elinchrom skyport. i believe every flash trigger is able to work.

make sure the X10's External Flash function is turned on and mount the trigger.

every click will activate the flash. :)
