FUJI Large Sensor Compact

Very Retro ...

Remind me of good old days of using the Yashica GSN.

It is really just a matter of price....

:)

wow time to sell off F200 for this new toy?

Just when i wanted to start saving some money...

The dof scale by the side simply looks good!

This beats them all. This is going to be a winner for people like me who have been praying and pleading for a manufacturer to listen to us and I am not surprised Fuji listened. Solid camera, reminds me of the range finders I was carrying in the good old days. Straight cut and no foolish bells and whistles.

I think F200 compliments this X100 for a complete travel setup ... Main camera's the x100, with the occasional wide angle (albeit 28mm) and the longer reaches with the F200.

Very tempting. However, just wondering if the "high-speed contrast AF" will be as good and fast as the phase detection type in dSLR?

If the price of this camera is attractive, I think it'll be a hotseller.. Anyone knows of the RRP of this camera?

Accordin to DPR:

Featuring a built-in ND filter (equivalent f-stop reduction of 3), the lens can enhance depth-of-field even in bright shooting conditions by enabling the aperture to be kept wide open. Shutter speed can also be reduced to capture waterfalls, or any shot where intentional blur is required.

This is cool!

And it is 5fps! Wow. That's fast. Really puts Leica X1 to shame. Now only waiting for reports about its AF and IQ. But just the looks alone is a killer!!!

But according to its brochere it'll only be available 'Early 2011', not soon enough for my December holidays

Someone from another forum performed a search on Japanese websites for some info about its pricing. It's said to be about USD 1400 to USD 1700. I really hope the info's wrong.

Going by its specs I won't be surprised... But hope the price drops after a while. One thing's for sure, it's stocks will fly off the shelves very fast!

noticed this too. and its in addition to the 1/8000 shutter so it ll almost always be able to shoot wide open!! i like this very much considering how i always hit the top shutter speeds n have to stop down. very smart.

i'd really love this, but i ve been saving for the d700 upgrade first... then maybe.... hopefully... =D

Love the look, very interesting specs... now just need to wait for the example photos and price ;)

If the IQ is in the same ballpark as most current APS-C cams, I can't imagine NOT buying one of these if the price is reasonable.

Also I like the retro look.

OMG! thanks for this surprise! I love you Fujifilm!!!!:bsmilie:
