Anybody know how much this cost on HK or TW?
Taiwan cheap street price is around NT$10300.
This is from the vpost website:
But even with 7% GST and 2.5% bank charge, it seems to be cheaper than direct UPS as i calculated it will be ard 450 and just buying 1. now its back to the drawing board for me. But i do forsee that it might take longer
Are there any further charges to use vpost ?
Not sure which is higher volumetric weight or actual? May inflate the shipping cost of vpost
Wah this is a revelation for me. Time to buy a new medium format system from KEH.com
I checked Vpost. FL600R at US$299, the costing is rather tight to siam GST.
1) the price of flash at US$299 = around S$388.7 (using 1.3).
2) cannot buy insurance as insurance alone will cost at least S$18
3) put base-charge aside, this means to keep it under S$400, the max charge for freight will need to be around S$11. this means a weight charge of around 1.2kg.
4) must remember that when the online shop ship the flash, it will pack the flash with original box in a bigger box with bubble wrap and packing peanuts. so, i think the package will easily weigh in at 1kg.
so, based on the above, it a very tight situation.
Now, assume weight or the volumetric is ok at S$11. now, is how to siam the base charge so that total cost is below S$400.
if you look at the vpost example on consolidated packages, it shows you that base charge is only calculated once.
So, that means, if you make a purchase of another product, say a camera neoprene case for US$50.
(i will suggest buying something else for your wife/gf/kids, Fisher-Price's sale special in their online shop is damn cheap in US)
it can technically means that....
Neoprene case = US$50 + base charge + weight charge
FL600R = US$299 + weight charge only.
Perhaps the two bros that bought from US can tell us how big is the shipping box that they packed in the FL600r. and will it weigh in at more than 1.2kg.
Also, i think i shown enough on how to siam, cant spoonfeed all the way.
If you still have questions, call Vpost. ask them if you buy two items, which items will kenna base charge?
the item that arrive first?
the item that cost the most?
How/what/which exchange rate to determine the value?
Use the shipping calculator, i think got another loophole to bring down the shipping charges slightly.
