FL-600R - Owner Review and Comments

U know... I don't remember what setting I use, but been using that setting pretty much all the time already :)

The flash is good, small and portable... decent output (I am pretty new to flash photography and so, yeah not too good with it.)

Anyway here are a few samples,

I like your dog! :P

And do you understand why there are various mode in the first place?

Yes, i do understand the various modes and when i use TTL-auto, the metering through the lens somehow gave me a lower exposure and i will need to increase +2 on the flash to generate a proper exposure. Is it normal?

And in just auto mode, the metering thr the flash will give a better exposure (i do not need to -/+ the flash) but it is not consistence at times.

I have no chance to try high speed sync yet and will try soon to see if it can give me a proper and consistence exposure.

Am just wondering what is the most prefered mode you guys are using? I have just begining to start using flash and wish to learn more from you gurus.

Basically I do not know about flash.

If TTL auto gives you underexposure, that means your metering (metric, centre weighted or spot) needs to be adjusted. There could also be other reasons but look into your metering first.

In Auto mode, basically the flash outsmart you?

High speed FP TTL Auto or FP Auto are basically the same thing but at faster shutter speed (example when shooting sports, bright daylight.

i am still trying to convince myself to buy this flash

a bit flimsy IMHO, not really into flash photography and i know used well can give really pleasing result

decision, decision, decision

You got that right about flimsiness... I drop my flash one time, while I was sitting on a chair onto wooden floor and the distance that the flash can fall was less than 1m, at the most around 750mm, and a large corner of the plastic mount chipped off... and that was on the second day of my usuage... (of course I am blaming myself for being a clumsy fella). But I have dropped my Yongnuo 565EX (Canon mount) and Canon 430EX II many many time, a couple of time, I drop when I was in standing position and that was certainly more than 1m, onto wooden floor or grasses, and both that flash survive without any chips.

my point is... as and when you get the FL600R flash, do take care of it, and not drop it like I have... and you will be fine.

Just got one myself recently and I must say it really open a new spectrum for me. Never like flash in the past. But now starting to appreciate flash photography.

slrr S$410 , checked last friday

That was until I saw the Metz 58AF2 flash, but someone mention that the metz is kind of huge.
The make of the Olympus is China, Metz is Germany if I am not wrong.
Hope u chose wisely.

I am gunning for the Metz for my first flash(though I hate using one)

thx for the option.

how's the output of the metz?
i hv this concern that 3rd party flash might not work properly

If i am not wrong, the Metz cannot be used as a flash commander...
