read from photoi forum, someone bought from AP at 570+ w/gst. sounds reasonable. anyone getting it? :D

I got it yesterday at that price + the 512mb fuji xdcard from them at $120. Only bad point abt the camera is the high storage needed for video. 4min 30secs of video takes up 512mb. Great pocket camera, took some pics of my school kids in the hall at iso 800 and 1600. Will post some samples up later.

Is there a setting to turn off the lcd after a while when the camera is connected to the PC?

don't think so, the auto power off didn't work when connected to pc.

say, do you guys find that the area surrounding the lens is like a bit cloudy.. it's not on the surface but under it..

sorry, i don't get what you mean.

was looking intently at the lens and apart from the centre which is of course crystal clear, the surrounding perimeter looked frosted... speckled..

I'm tempted to get this F10 against my initial intend for LZ2 or FX2. OCBC Prestige Credit has this F10 for Shop-By-Mail promo at $580 w/gst. Free gifts: Camera Case, Dry Box, Mini Tripod, Backpack Sports Cap(whats' this??), Lens cleaning kit & screen protector. Now is that a good deal or what? :) :)

Go for it if F10 is your choice. it is indeed a great deal!

How is the quality? Its in what format? Are you using 640 x 480 or 320 x 240?

I just called MS Color for latest quote on the F10. Surprisingly, it not attractive at $575 cash with free case only. Nothing else. :( Looks like I'm better off with OCBC Prestige Credit promo. :) :) :)

The quality is good no compression artifacts, I shoot in 640x480, 320x240 is too small. The compression is MJPEG. Here's the info from avi info.

reno77, I visited your album at multiply.com Noted your F10 pics generally has a slight red saturation. Is this the intend or due to the camera?

Just got back from AP (SLS). Price is $550 w/o gst & no freebies :dunno: . Walk one round came back and asked got $540 w/o gst & no freebies  . So by linear extrapolation if I walk around and come back to AP 4 more times I'll get the price down to $500  . Whew! think I'm getting tire from all that. Will order from OCBC. Remember that adverts ..."Ask OCBC".

reno77, the little girl shots looks good but the one at Siloso beach seems to have some "fringing" at top right and also along the pants edge of the man. Is this the norm for F10?

Yes, as in most (all?) digicams, blooming occurs on the boundaries of bright and dark areas when taking pics in bright sunlight.

Some quirks with the F10 that I hope they fix in a firmware patch.

1) On auto mode the iso is not auto, it is fixed at what you set. You must set ISO to auto manually.

2) The normal slowest shutter speed of 3 secs for the camera can only be achieved in night mode. On all other modes it is only 1/4 secs. This is a problem if you want to take a macro longer than 1/4 secs because on night mode you cannot take macro.

3) To take shutter speeds longer than 3 secs you must go thru 2 levels on menu options.

4) The LCD is always on when you connect the camera to the PC for transferring pictures. I dont know why it even needs to be on. A few times I have left it on for 30+ mins.

Hope this doesnt deter ppl from buying the camera, I've had great fun using it for the last 2 weeks. Its the best digicam currently for taking low light shots and the battery just keeps going and going.

Hi guys,

Drudkh, excuse me if I missed a post. Did you buy the F10 :dunno:

If you have, how do you like it ?
I have this camera in at work (SELL SELL SELL) and am interested in feedback about it.

So far I have not had much time to play with it.

I have taken note of views by reno77 and am interested to hear others pro's and con's.

Thanks for any replies guys.

Cheers.
