i'll bet that there are other reasons too... but here are just two possibilities :P hehe~ i know I badly want an upgrade to a D2H D2Hs or D2x for the higher frame rate... but no vitamin M! :hammer:

Wrong reason to upgrade. Just like a newer model won't help you get good pictures if you don't know how it works, getting one with higher fps won't get you the moment you want if you don't know what you want.

If you folks are interested, I can get

2GB Lexar at $296

Interested let me know. :)

jamesow: frankly, forget using the Kingston on D70, a Lexar is very much faster on D70.

You start a class to share share workflow lor, then we all go there and show each other how we process
ESPN, how much is 1G LEXAR?

1GB Lexar I can get at $152. :)

2GB Lexar more worth it ;)

That abt $3 cheaper for one CF. Thanks! Lets see if the IT show gives better deal...
I read the user manual of D70, lexar is recommended over many brands...
Wat abt the price of 512M?

I just got my D70 also. Still in the box... tonight install the software then maybe go for a test run. :)

wah... looks like we can form a D70 newbie table liao :D

I also D70 newbie!! Can I join? :embrass:

jamesow: I have no idea if the IT show will have better prices, will have to wait and see :)

alex01sg: It's recommended to charge the battery for 8 hours prior to usage :) but, fret not! You can use 3 2CR5 to temporarily support the camera.

i also d70 newbie......
so join wat?

Hi guys.. me also a newbie... Hey just a question, sometimes my D70 cannot forcus on a subject, keep zooming in and out. I know i can switch from AF to M... But other than this, is there any setting where i have gone wrong??? Thanks for the englightments....

Gotta know what's the min focusing distance of your lens and whether the actual distance from the object to your lens is within this range.

No worries man. The best and fastest way to go about learning your new equipemnt is to go for a photo shoot outing with other camera users. It's quite common to come across someone else using a D70 these days. I'm also using one.

There are lots of activities lined up in this month of March. So go ahead and sign up a few and join in the fun! There's much to be discovered about the D70 and the art of digital photography! :light:

thanks espn, I bought it last night, and first thing when I got home was charge both batteries (one last night and one this morning). So tonight go back can try it out. :vhappy:

I still have one in the box haven't charge, feel like selling it off. Hehehe.

hmmm... was hoping the higher frame rate will help me get better birds in flight pictures... so i can get the movement in sequence... ie. landing sequence shots? The 3fps on D70 - i miss the short moments in-between... any better alternative? :dunno:

The D70's 3fps can be likened to a semi-automatic handgun. If you're looking for a 'machine gun', get the D2X's 8fps.

just trying to think over if what espn said does really make sense... that its the wrong reason to want to change to a 'faster' cam. hmmm~
