3fps regardless RAW/JPEG, but the buffer for D70 is only 4 RAW shots. Given the speed that it writes compressed RAW. Shouldn't be a problem to take more than 4 shots RAW consecutively.

On a normal speed CF card?

I won't know how many RAWs can be done on normal card CFs, but 4 consecutively is confirmed.

If you get a lexar, maybe 6-7 consecutively.

Welcome me ppl! I just got mine at CP earlier on.

I got $1818!!! With the 70-300mm len. Compared to you guys.. there's lots of diff. Well, now its not the matter of price because since I had just got it so I shouldnt grumble.

Im newbie on Nikon D70, need master of you ppl to guide me along.

I had not get the CF card yet. Waiting for the LExtar $152 1Gb CF from the guy. Hehehe...

I was thinking of getting SB600 flash as well but then its way over my budget because had not got the CF card.

May I ask SB600 and SB800, which is preferable?

Thanks ppl! ;)

There are some extra accessories that comes with sb800... if u compare closely ,the price gap not really big... ie. built in bounce card , ommi bounce and u might not be thinking of upgrading ur flash in another few yrs...lol

After getting ur sb800.... althought u might stop thinking abt upgrades for awhile....but u will think of buying a few more sb600 for CLS :bsmilie:

Kerpalz doing lexar MO wat.... why wait? just do it

Dun forgot to purchase a camera bag, dry box case, cleaning kit and good tripod to support D70 with flash and long zoom lens. ;)

cool... i just got my D70 too... 2 weeks ago from MS. next item to purchase is the 50mm 1.8 lens. been shooting almost everyday. just shoot anything lah. still trying to get acquainted with it.

to save money on the dry box... you can use an airtight tupperware to keep your stuff. that's what i did. to be a bit kiasu... can throw some silica gel into it too ;)

Welcome the Newbie of D70 and thanks the Lao Jiao! Hehehe

Erm... I dun understand by :"
After getting ur sb800.... althought u might stop thinking abt upgrades for awhile....but u will think of buying a few more sb600 for CLS"
What CLS? Hehehe So, I reckon SB800 act as master and SB600 is slave? :dunno:

Snowspeeder - whats Optech strap?

I already too broke for SB800 (Wun be using so often), extra batt now. I reckon the batt will cost around $70 as I saw on B/S thread.

How much does hotshoe cover cost and where to get it?

I had my Manfrotto Tripod (2nd hand! Its still tough though it's 10 yr old)and Lowepro Reporter 200 bag.

As for 50mm f1.8, Not so soon. Need to play more with other stuff first. (Excited)

Cant join this sunday as I had to go temple for praying. Shall see you at Ubin trip ;)

Think if you don't forsee yourself using a lot of flash in your shoots, then just get the SB600 for now. Maybe next time when u get into CLS (Creative Lightting System) then buy more flashes.

Optech strap is selling @S$26 at J316. Can also try CP. It is far better than the nikon strap. Makes the camera feel a lot lighter especially when u carry heavier lenses and flash at the same time. It is durable and easy to wash. U probably saw me using it during the Ubin trip.

Hotshoe cover...ask espn see if he still has any left.

oh..... thanks Snowspeeder.
I'll consider properly on the flash. (not so fast for that)

For the strap, I'll check it out at CP again.

Any pic which I can view the hotshoe cover?
espn - how much does it cost?

Oh ya, then u can also get the Nikon Rubber Eye Piece (S$35) @ TCW. It really makes shooting more comfortable!

You might want to hold back on the accessories first. Save up for a good flash - thats the one thing u will probably need most now. :)
