Film prices

lets just hope with the increase in price, the quality will not fall.. I think that is more important.. Like no one really knows if the new portra 400/160 is actually better(even though they claim it as such)...
The early reviews from other users in the UK and US looks promising. I kinda like it. I bought a few rolls of the 120 version to try out. Let's see if it's worth using color again. hehe

Just a quick check 120mm film price for tmax n trix, anyone has any idea of the price now?
Thanks

No idea but 120mm HP5 was going at $5 at ruby yesterday... wanted to stock up some 135mm too but I must have gone there after mikhail33. lol

i just bought 100 rolls of Kodak Plus-x (24 exposures) online from freestylephoto.biz. here is the calculation:

100 rolls of Arista Premium 100, 1.89usd x 100 = 189 USD
shipping to vpost center, 13.99 usd
total $202.99 usd (248 sgd, round to 250)

estimated delivery from Vpost usa to singapore, $50 sgd

total is SGD 300 for 100.

thanks

That doesn't sound too bad. I guess this is probably the route to take in the future. Thanks for sharing!

Can we pool our orders together and order from Freestyle together? Thanks Raytoei for breaking up the cost for us!

ruby kodak's 120 format is cheap compared to overseas.. so i bought 100 in the past 2 weeks of tmax 400. they are/were selling at 4.30sgd. Best to call and reserve.

cheers!

yup, that sounds good! but i kinda need ASA400 instead of 100.. I heard that Arista Premium is Tri-X rebranded, so maybe that could save some cost.. (we can save up on the brand-name price..)

yeah there is ISO 400 for Arista film. I also want to get this film speed after I run out of my TriX

Aunty say price will increase only from 18 may onwards..anyway they still have plenty stocks on hand. Thou i see ppl buying in bulk.
Ruby is having de best business these days.
Anyway guys..its not d end of films. The price hearsay will be ard $6 a roll of tri x for 120mm. There will never be enough to stock up the films..

I myself got so influenced by de crowd there tat i got another 15 rolls of trix 120mm. Guess tis will b my last purchase

Lets cool dwn..n not throw everything we have into it.
Worse come to worse, make shooting films a luxury hobby!

Frankly speaking..since de day tat film price will increase, de speculated amt mentioned kip changing.
I don think kodak will kill themselves by raising so much..where there r other competitors ard..

By e way, i was checking with a seller at thailand on his film prices, he told me he din really heard abt de film price increase..anyway he sells mostly color negatives..

I guess it's time for me to shoot using Lucky film and develop using MicroMF/Acifix :bsmilie:

if i had more moolahs, i would buy this:

20x 24exposure, pack of Fuji neopan 400 (aka Legacy Pro 400) at usd$30
x 5 = 100 rolls or $150.

shipping to vpost address, $14.

total is $164usd = 201 sgd + 50 delivery (estimated) = $251 for $100 rolls or 2.51 estimated.

Thanks ray..lucky seems pretty cheap..next is to check how they will look like..under de developer i have..

yes, you can develop lucky film just like any other b&w film...
i always keep a few rolls, cos its cheap and can be use to do test roll..

heres one shot lucky + t-max developer...
although not the best example,

but be prepare, because of the poor quality control of these film, you might end up having a roll that look like this.... although i kindof like the effects.
