they are all taken with no tripod right ???

I think you meant to say Macro instead of Micro.

Nice flowers. I missed it, should have gone there despite of the rain and the hassle to get there.

Hi guys, I seriously considering this cam. What is holding me back is that I've read in many reviews about the tendency of f30/f31 to produce high contrasting images ie blown out whites and underexposed dark areas, without in-camera option to adjust the contrast settings.

Any major gripe with this image quality you are getting and do you have to constantly underexpose and pp later to get the details? How bad is this compared to other makes of P&S cameras?

Most will use the exposure compensation to counter it. Visit dpreview's forum for more details and discussion. My only gripe is the easily corruptible xD card then anything else. I enjoy using it.

one thing about F31fd is that the pic color straight out from camera can be quite dull
unless u have chosen "chrome" feature. If not, have to do post-processing on color
adjustment.

it's not dull, but natural. that's the selling point of fuji, very clean natural color tones.. i'd say it's reminds me of it's yesteryear's nph portraiture films. but anyway, not too difficult to boost it with photoshop if u prefers punchy vivid colors.. just a minute's work. ;p
