add in a constant f2.8 throughout the zoom range..... that would be the ideal P&S for me.

yaya!! how much i hope it come with 28mm. i think if F31fd come with 28mm will really be ultimate.

Very sharp and clear, F30 is really something
I'm thinking to get one also, or maybe I shd wait for F31fd :)

Your setting was Landscape mode, ISO100, f/3.4 & 10 sec.
Wonder how you could achieve 10 sec exposure time in landscape mode!

Thanks

Emm....I use night mode......it allows me to set exposure till 15 secs.....:)

Just press the +/- button and u can set the exposure timing.....:)

A little OT here, but one thing I like about the F30 is that there's quite a lot of information in the EXIF data. You get indications whether the AF was ok, exposure was ok, macro mode on or not etc in addition to the usual shutter/aperture information. Its useful when my wife goes around shooting 100 shots in dummy mode and then you notice that 20% of it is out of focus. Looking at the EXIF you'll see if it was ever focussed before pressing the shutter button, or maybe it was wrong setting etc.

Now back to Stanly's post. Its nice to see that pict, but if you keep it at ISO100 and 10sec exposure, I think most camera in this class can do that. But what's interesting is when you go into, say a concert and be able to produce a nice looking picture at ISO3200 with the F30 when other point and shoots will try and use flash and get something really underexposed.

Thanks for the clarification.

Either the exif of that pic does not reflect the correct mode or Panda Exif2 cannot read it correctly.

:D

Hmm...that'll be fun.....;)

Just check with AP sls yesterday, now F30 for $576 incl. gst + 1G xD + case.
Anyone think worth to get F30 now or shd wait till F31fd in the market

The F31fd should be arriving in 1 to 2 week's time. If you can wait, why not?

However, don't expect great improvement of it from F30 though.

Took some night shots with the F30 during my recent Taipei trip (all handheld without using flash):

Thanks for sharing, very sharp and clear

Hm very tempted to get the F30 after reading much about it. But just wonder without IS, do the pictures turn out blurry if your hands shake moderately?

I guess I'm not so worry about the IS, with higher ISO 800 or 1600, shutter speed can be faster, so less effect of hands shake

I also went Taiwan recently and took some shots. :)
All EXIF info should be still in the file.

Some nite shots from the F30.
Only resized in photoshop.

Is there manual mode on the F30? One that allows you to control aperature, shutter and ISO?
